Ten Billion People by 2050

Ten Billion People by 2050
April 11, 2021
"The world population is projected to reach 9.9 billion by 2050, an increase of more than 25% from the current 2020 population of 7.8 billion. Total fertility rates are below the replacement level of 2.1 births per woman in 91 countries and territories, mostly in Asia and Europe, as well as in the United States."

Linky

This freaking terrifies me! I seriously do not understand why anyone thinks it's a good idea to bring a kid into the world right now. Any progress make by humans in climate change, environmentalism, and so on will be pointless with the increased instability brought on by such an increase in population. Not to mention that COVID and the political situation in the US in particular have shown that people will not work together well in the face of a serious threat such as a pandemic.

You'd think population growth would slow down between the pandemic, more people choosing to not reproduce than ever before, and everything I constantly hear about both male and female fertility rates plummeting. I wish giving birth could somehow be outlawed until every single child in the system has a home. Precisely NO ONE needs to be making a brand new life right now, but everybody wants a home-grown brat and won't accept a pre-made one because they don't want to raise someone else's discarded child.

Doesn't surprise me that the nations with the highest projected population increase are places where poverty is rampant (and consequently, the life expectancy is lower). Niger and Angola are some of the poorest countries on the planet.

This link suggests we will hit 11 billion people by 2100 and I'm glad I'll be long gone by this point.

But people don't think about what kind of a life their offspring will have when they reach adulthood. All they care about is me me me, gimme gimme gimme, want babby now! Most parents don't like or want the kids they have to begin with, so they don't care how much their kids might have to suffer trying to make it in life and by the time things get really bad, the breeders will be long gone and the kids will be left trying to figure out what to do.

More people means fewer jobs and less food as well as more crime and murder as everyone fights to have something for themselves. It's not gonna be pretty. But oh, climate change and overpopulation don't exist. Don't we hear that enough times too? eye rolling smiley

That is genuinely frightening.

I know an awful lot of people who have been breeding during the pandemic, they seem desperate to attention whore the fact they're having a COVID-19 baby, when the planet suffers from severe overpopulation (fuck, FloriDuh is severely overpopulated), lack of clean water, lack of affordable housing, and lack of jobs that pay well.

The competition for scarce resources and jobs is already a serious problem, and bringing more babies into the world only exacerbates it.

There is a very good chance that I will be dead by 2050, and watching this planet go into the shitter makes me physically ill.

precisely sel.... I grieve because our pets will suffer because of selfish people. As things stand now, many of us try to make the little creatures lives better. But if everything collapses because of gonad worship, this will go out the window. People will starve to death, so will the dogs and cats.

people (especially women) do not give ONE DAMN about what they inflict on children and I defy anyone to prove me wrong

Dysfunctional relationships almost always have a child. The more dysfunctional, the more children.

The selfish wants of adults outweigh the needs of the child.

Some mistakes cannot be fixed, but some mistakes can be 'fixed'.

Adoption agencies have strict criteria (usually). Breeders, whose combined IQ's would barely hit triple digits, have none.

I recommend you do what you have to in order to have an 'exit bag' on hand. I'm not suicidal, but I have no illusions.

We could open a store called "It is cute until..." and it would have baybeez/toadlers/whatever that people would rent until it is no longer cute, then they would return them once reality sets in. It could operate on a days only, weekly or monthly payment interval. We'd have to have them prepay because once they reach peak annoyance they are unlikely to pay. Bet there are plenty of parunts that would be willing to give up their brats for these time periods. Better than abandoning them at the park with strangers.

The goal being when they hit the "until" stage they decide breeding isn't worth it.

I will be extremely upfront and blunt: I think these countries can least afford the high populations because they have very low resources and an extremely high likelihood of experiencing ecological, political and social turmoil. Many of these are heavily dependent on the good will and foreign aid from wealthier countries to support their growing populations, and when other countries eventually withdraw their aid to support their own people when the environmental shit (inevitably) hits the fan, you will see heavy poaching, destruction of the local environments as desperate people slash and burn everything down to the ground to grow what food they can, and finally famine, ecological collapse and desertification.

Many of these people will suffer and die because their populations have been artificially inflated for years, people thinking to throw endless food and vaccinations at people will solve things when the root causes of poverty seem to be endless political strife and women not being allowed to say 'No' to their men.

What I think will happen and what the wealthy nations are planning on is to wait for their own populations to stop breeding, or drop their own fertility down below the tipping point. They will then import the poor people to come in and wipe the asses of the rich.

THIS! I review medical records for a living and I came across a Labor & Delivery chart where a woman was 48 years old and gave birth last week via IVF. That means this bint chose to go through drastic and expensive measures to deliberately bring another fucking brat into this world during a goddamn pandemic!! I swear to chr*st I fucking hate humanity!

Never mind IVF brats are almost always defective. Add the fact the bitch is ancient...

Doctors who allow this shit for women beyond prime breeding age (under 40, I'd say) should lose their licenses. Aside from pregnancy being much harder on a woman's body the older she is, there's the fact that a child born to a woman with spoiled eggs will be much more likely to be born with birth defects, some of which won't be detected until after the child is born. It's not fair to bring a child into the world with such major problems form the get-go. Obviously it's not guaranteed to happen, but why risk it? It's not like you might lose a couple thousand dollars like you're at a casino - you're gambling with someone else's (potential) life.

I know we defy biology through medicine all the time, but most of the time it only impacts the person themselves. IVF for geriatric Moos can possibly fuck up more than one life. There's a reason most women can't get pregnant after they reach a certain age - that does not mean it's time to go "challenge accepted" and manually implant an embryo.

I will never ever feel sorry for some heifer who bleats and moans about her failed IVF or rampant miscarrying when there are thousands upon thousands of children in the system who need loving foster/adoptive families who aren't good enough just because they don't share DNA.

I wish adoption could be encouraged more. Is it the cost? Is it because parents don't want to have the awkward "you're adopted" conversation with their child? Is it the whole "duhhhhh we could only love our own flesh and blood" mindset? Is it because a vast majority of people would be shitty parents and would not pass the screening process, so the only way to get their hands on a kid is to make their own?

This has come up a time or two here. Teen and young–20s moos won't give their sprogs for adoption because they say it's "cruel to the baby". Somehow it's "better" for a baby to have an impoverished single moo for a parent than a loving couple who could give the kid everything it needs. I don't get it, except as projection.

Mark my words, though. As population increases, the wealthy countries will wake up and seek to limit parenthood. Expect vetting, licensing, etc., one day. Teen moos aren't gonna make the cut.

I'm not as optimistic as you are. I would be satisfied if the Government would stop giving monetary incentives for breeding, which will never happen thanks to politicians.

The Government actually limiting breeding would be a dream come true.

And while I generally don't trust the Government and do not want the Government involved in peoples' personal decisions--some people are just too stupid to figure out the obvious, such as: we do not need any more people, and wearing a mask during a pandemic is a good idea, etc.

We are already choking on our own waste, chemicals and pollution, yet we still have idiots saying that we could all fit into the state of TexAss, etc.

It is definitely the cost of American adoption that prevents adoptions in this nation. We pay 4 times the adoption fees of any other nation and that is why Americans go to other nations to adopt children when they do so.

I still think the powers that be want to impose control. they just are doing it by letting the problems get so out of control that the idiot breeders will submit to everything and anything to fix it.

You are onto something here. All that one has to do is instill enough fear into one... Which isn't much for breeders. Nazis did what they did because they took control of the media. Today, with much of free resources going behind a paywall, we are going to see less of good information and what is left is going to be full of someone's agenda. I personally do not mind paying for good information, but it will be difficult to evaluate stuff without paying for it first
