I had to post the article after reading it in Friday's
Journal. Mr. Woodlief said it best.
I am glad he mentioned that all people are not "equal". College students and grads need to understand that they are automatically not entitled to a career because they feel "passionate" about it. Unfortunately, many college grads chose shit majors and are paying for it with shit jobs. A liberal arts degree often is not going to make a ton of $$$...or going to fashion school believing they are entitled to be the next DKNY or Tommy Hilfiger designer.
Children need to be taught that life is not fair. Life is a "bitch" and bad shit happens. It is like the author said, the other kids need to get over it if one of the siblings does have more frosting on his piece of cake. Mother does not need to get out a measuring tape when cutting desert portions for the kids. They eat what they get. It is as simple as that! To do otherwise makes these kids into such insufferable little tyrants who cannot function in school or on the job as young adults.
My favourite is how he mentions breeders who have a conniption fit and snarl if someone rebukes their bad-mannered little darlings like Theresa mentioned in the
"Target Brats" thread while shopping with a friend. In my Day, most children did not want to be corrected by another adult as there would be more consequences from the parents for daring to bring on negative attention.
The man starts off how humans are not innately giving. Like he says of how toddlers fight for toys. Kids are being taught how discipline and limits are for chumps. A parent's job is to have the child schooled and taught a skill so s/he can get out of the house at adulthood. This is to liberate parents supporting their offspring past their own retirement years.
