This chick is particularly needy; first locking her doors against lustful pizza-delivery teens and now wanting to get involved with the Waste Management crew's private business.

The whole world does not want or need mothering. Mothering is not going to make up for lost manpower. And, in fact, if Desperate Moo here had half a brain - she would realize that the Garbage Man has informed his superiors and they will most likely bring out another truck mate for him.

These people aren't stupid, it's not like a Lifetime Movie where there's some deep dark tragedy that only YOU can make better and you wind up "Changing Everyones Desitny" just by bringing a muffin.

It's not how the Real World works. In hot conditions, on a busy route, the waste management company will drive out another helper. They actually calculate things in dollar and cents, not muffins, and it only makes sense not to over burden a good worker.

(Stray factoid - I have a friend who's a Civil Engineer and one of his first jobs was for a large garbage company. I'd say 'waste management' again, but that's a little too close to their name Anyway - they made the engineers (yes - garbage has become quite complex, the piles of it are, literally, engineered) - so they made the engineers ride along on the garbage trucks so they would *really KNOW* what the job entailed. My friend said it was a pretty brutal job.)

So yeah - they've got all this down to a science and the company absolutely would send out another worker.

There's no need for muffins, and they won't help anyway, and - the situation is covered.

If Romantically Desperate Cow had half a brain - she'd at least have an inkling of some of these things.

And she's got net access - "HowStuffWorks" and other sites will tell you all about how garbage works.

That would require actual thinking though. Instead of indulging your Romantic Notions, which, creepily, are all based off "Mothering".

Also don't you love it that some of eHell's most ubiquitous (and completely erroneous from a true etiquette POV, not that any of them have ever picked up an etiquette book) memes are that "retaliatory rudeness" and "pointing out another's rudeness" are "always wrong" -- yet the mods never miss a chance to publicly smirk about wielding their petty power. Especially that lumbering dolt Cass and the simpering Ticia, who love to insert their schoolmarm warnings into any thread that gets the slightest bit lively. The hypocrisy and inconsistency abound there (some of it, I think, due to ignorance and lack of self-awareness by the dullards in charge of the joint) and it's quite entertaining!
