Tear him a new one! This fat ASS doesn't even know how contraception works.

Quote

“Three thousand dollars for birth control in three years? That’s a thousand dollars a year of sex — and, she wants us to pay for it,” Limbaugh said, adding that high school boys applying to college should consider Georgetown. “They’re admitting before congressional committee that they’re having so much sex they can’t afford the birth control pills!”

Quote

On today’s show, Limbaugh turned up the heat and suggested that women who use insurance-covered birth control should post sex tapes online: “So Miss Fluke, and the rest of you Feminazis, here’s the deal. If we are going to pay for your contraceptives, and thus pay for you to have sex. We want something for it. We want you to post the videos online so we can all watch,” he said.

Wait, does this fucking retard think that birth control pills are like condoms and women take one each and every time they have sex?
Re: Limpballs vs. Women

What a tremendous asshole!

I'm just trying to think of what I would spend on BC ~

Zero, I'm celibate grinning smiley

But - reflecting back - say I had sex 3 x per week. x 52 = 156.

How much to condoms cost? I can't take any BC. This would have to be at least $200 /yr, probably more (in my case my SO handled this and paid for it. And I'm not up on current prices.) - this alone can't be cheap in any case.

Most people might use more BC on top of this. What are the monthly pills? And doc visits? I could see how this could be $1K, if not more.

Pill Freak Rush here (I wonder how much those cost?) cites 1K per year? that doesn't sound unreasonable to me.
= $19 / wk.

Cheaper than Cable TV.

Probably lots cheaper than buzz pills or many other simple things too, even things you need or at least are good for you - I'm trying to think of how much I spend on vitamins. Or beer grinning smiley

BC is a good thing too because it helps people plan and be responsible. Er, I thought Conservatives liked this kind of thinking?

Don't have sex? You're going to have some frustrated people on your hands. Won't be too good of Corporate Slaves. Might shoot up the place. And then you'll really have some expenses on your hands! And don't expect any gov bailouts, either - that would be Socialism! :satan

There will be no $ spent on orphanages or foster care for all the unwanted loaves either; That is also Socialism Communism!
mob with pitchforks chasing anothermob

So all these creatures, and there will be *plenty* of truly frightening ones - will be free to roam, beg, and steal. And worse.

I hope the High and Mighty can erect some really good fences to keep them out .......

When's he gonna start pressuring his gross old Repugnican buddies to post the sex vids they make when they're hopped up on insurance-covered boner pills? Or better yet, when's he gonna post vids of the weekly orgies he has with KFC Double Downs and BK Stackers while he's high on Oxy?
Re: Limpballs vs. Women

Contraceptives isn't about paying for sex, it's paying for HEALTH!

This bastard is against birth control and abortion, and still against paying for the children he wants women forced to have.

Oh, and of course women who have sex have to do it for his pleasure. It's all about dominating women, one way or another. Fuck that pathetic sack of lard. Oh, wait, no one will. That's why he wants tapes.
Re: Limpballs vs. Women

I would think a man with any brain cells at all available to rub together would be too proud and/or embarrassed at how his diatribes make it clear that no woman EVER has voluntarily had sex with him out of passion or desire, but only for money or other gain.

Looking at him, it's easy to deduce as much -- it's just bizarre that such a staunch macho neanderthal can't control himself enough to not confirm it publicly at any opportunity.

Hi there,
This is my first post here (yay!!!) and the reason is I'm really wondering how much BC costs in the US? There's been a lot of debate here lately about BC and its costs and I wonder, can it be so bad that a 25yo hard-working woman has to struggle to cover the costs??
I live in France and public healthcare along with my personal health insurance pay for all medical expenses (you may not have an individual room in the event of a hospital stay or be covered for a boob job however) So BC is totally free for me. But if I was willing to pay full price (like I forgot my healthcare card AND my health insurance card when going to the chemist) the box of BC pills for 3 months carries a sticker stating the price you pay without insurance : that's an awfull lot of... 5,08€. That's 6,75$. I did the maths for a 52 weeks (a year) and it's 22€ / 30$. (I must say the one I use is the cheapest, a friend of mine pays 15€ a month for her BC pill but she chooses so)
So I assume it's a lot more expensive in the US because, who couln't afford 30$ a year to avoid spending 10 000$ a year in the next 18 years??
Please enlighten me!!

P.S when I say "healthcare" I'm referring to the French public system of health insurance. Some money is taken off my paycheck every month to contribute. In return I can have doctors appointements for free/a bargain, prescritions are free, surgery as well, a trip to the ER is free of charge too. What is still expensive is dental care. Glasses or contacts are affordable but can get expensive if you want something nice.

I take HRT (hormone replacement therapy) and my insurance plan covers part of the price, so my copay is around $12.

The think the full price is closer to $50-$60, which adds up to a tidy $720/year, a tough nut for poor women. Other's mileage may vary, and BC intended for preventing conception may run higher/lower, I don't know.

In any case, it's incredibly stoooopid not to offer subsidized BC. We have quite enough idiots breeding already, no reason to make it harder for them to be responsible.
Re: Limpballs vs. Women

My copay for the three months at a time variety (taken for health reasons, not BC) is 75 bucks. I think full price it comes to nearly 200 a quarter. So they are quite expensive here.

However, geezer hard-on pills are not cheap either since to the best of my knowledge the patents have just run and before that, they cannot be copied.

And yeah, Rushie, how much did all that oxy cost?

I really, really wish someone would would force him to answer this question:

"Would you call an 18-year-old man a 'slut,' 'scumbag' - whatever - if he needed a male pill? After all, what is more sacred than a man's right to take responsibility, to take control of his own future, to pursue his own path/career in life without the burden of premature fatherhood? And which is more expensive - contraception or welfare babies?"

Trouble is, at the same time, I have no answer for the following comment - it's from msnbc, but I can't seem to find the exact article or comments again, even when I searched on just Limbaugh and Fluke.

It was something like: "So contraception is cheaper than babies. Well, eating less is cheaper than heart attacks, so why not just eat less? Why should I pay just so you can eat more?"

Though my guess is, he'd just say: "I don't believe in anyone's right to have sex at others' expense. If you're a man and you can't even afford condoms, tough. Get a job. End of story."

For some reason, him and his kind think they have a right to decide who gets to and who doesn't, regardless of other factors.

Men will never understand that, for many women, birth control isn't just birth control; it regulates hormones for those who need them regulated, it relieves (even if ever-so-slightly) extremely painful conditions, and the MENTAL HEALTH of the woman, man, and NotChild won't be compromised. There. THREE VERY, VERY IMPORTANT THINGS to consider, when some 'bejeweled' bag-o'-wind decides it's time to talk shit.

Most narcs, even out-of pocket, especially generic ones, are surprisingly cheap. Dunno about oxy, though, as they might make it expensive, as a deterrent.

Hi, I thought I'd respond, as this particular thing has fucked me, repeatedly. THE ONLY b/c that's worked for me wrt endometriosis and the debilitating, constant pain it causes, costs (without insurance) around $90 USD per 4 weeks. My doctor, who wants to be a douche and not help me out when it cuts out (about 4-6 days per month) and I need narcotic mercy, recommended I switch it out every 3 weeks, which instead of 13/yr, comes to 17-18/yr, and it still doesn't work ALL of the time. So, b/c is effing ridiculous, here. Other pills I've been on have cost me $50/month, and that was WITH insurance, so... also ridiculous. I'm sorry, but regardless of the purpose, main purpose, off-label usage, medication is medication, and should be treated as such... and there should be no morality thrown into it. I've said it before, and I'll say it again - they're happy as a pig in shit, in this country, to cover meds for men to be able to put their dicks INTO things, but when it comes to prevention of very large, living, unwanted objects coming OUT of those things, THEN it's a fucking problem, for some reason. Men with ED want to fuck, and if they have their meds, they can fuck. No problem subsidizing something meant purely for fucking, if you're male. A multi-purpose medication for WOMEN? FUCK THAT, IT KEEPS THEM FROM FULFILLING THEIR ONLY PURPOSE - BEAR CHILDREN, AND BE KEPT IN YOUR PLACES, WOMEN!!!!!

Sorry, that wasn't mean to be a rant, but alas, it turned out to be such.

It was something like: "So contraception is cheaper than babies. Well, eating less is cheaper than heart attacks, so why not just eat less? Why should I pay just so you can eat more?"

Seems to me you could go at it from a couple of different angles...
1) The correlation between eating and heart attacks is not NEARLY as direct as the correlation between birth control and fewer babies. Birth control taken properly is super effective. But I'm pretty sure that all of us can point to at least one example in our lives (and probably more than one if we think about it a bit) of someone who did everything "right" health-wise and still had a heart attack, or of someone who did everything "wrong" health-wise and lived to a ripe old age with few (if any) health problems.

2) Contraception's main purpose might be birth control, but that is not its ONLY purpose. Birth control can also be prescribed for everything from acne to PCOS and tons of other stuff.

3) In a society where we care about each other and want the best for society at large, we sometimes have to suck it up and deal with paying for things we might not otherwise want to pay for.

Not that I think ANY of those replies would get through to someone stupid enough to make the initial comment, or to think they have the right to deny women medical care (which is exactly what anyone who is against birth control or against paying for birth control is doing).

I have the Nexplanon implant which lasts for 3 years. Contraception is free with our NHS (National Health Service) but I've just looked up the cost and it's £79.46 which is US$ 126. Not bad for 3 years' worth of protection. I'd happily pay that if it weren't free.

Contraception is free on the NHS - I guess they have realised it's a whole lot cheaper than an abortion or the cost of childbirth.

Can't believe that such people even exist! It's so scary and makes me stabby....:cen It's not even about womens' health, it's about womens' hate...how dare they enjoy sex without consequences?

Where i live depends on what pill you take. There are some BC pills which are partially covered by insurance because they are on the list for health benefits (acne, menstrual pains etc.) However, it's kinda unfair because those might not fit me and i take smth. else which is also primarly for my health but i have to pay for it from my own pocket. I can't say the cost is huge but anyways it's around 100€ per year.
