WITH SQUIRREL!!!

Well, maybe it's an old phrase.

DW just read me that this phrase comes from Vance Randolph, author of 1953's Down In The Holler: A Gallery of Ozark Folk Speech. It is a rural way of saying inpig!

"Lookit that belly. I bet that gal is with squirrel!"

"That ain't fried possum in there, that's for sure."

I'm not sure how much I'd want to use it. It may insult some really kind and gracious grey tree rats.

It makes even more sense in these modern times to wit:

"Is your child autistic?"

"No, he's my little squirrel on crack."
