A regular loaf is bad enough, but at least it will probably grow up to be a person, maybe even a person worth knowing. But... this? This thing has no personality, no consciousness. It's about as aware as your average microbe. Why the hell would you spend thousands and thousands of dollars feeding, clothing, and transporting this thing, and worse yet, spending unthinkable amounts of money on hospital visits, doctors and medication? All while knowing with 100% certainty that it's going to die before it reaches school age, not that it could ever go to school, because it has no capability of learning. It is not a human.

Wasted time, wasted energy, wasted love. And it will all end in heartbreak. Everyone involved knows this. Why? Some cynical answer like, moos love their 'eternal baby dolls', or maybe some mysterious maternal instinct that they're not strong enough to overcome?
