So she was sexually abused, presumably never got any kind of therapy for it (not that therapy fixes everything), and went to abuse and exploit her own daughter? I'm going to assume her parents may have played a part in abusing her or they were absent since she was sixteen when she chose to meet up with that man.

What a surprise. Having a kid does not magically fix a person's problems. So much for the ole "if you wait until you're ready to have children, you'll never have them" and "it's different when it's your own" bingoes too.
