Authorities are still searching for suspects in Monday's Wichita junior football practice gunfire incident. Police said a group of angry men threatened a youth football league coach with a gun and then began beating him after a dispute over a child's playing time, Kansas.com wrote in a Sep. 9 report.

It all started when the mother of a former player began arguing with the coach while the Wichita Tigers, a youth football program, were holding practice as usual. Reportedly, the mother was upset that her son wasn't allowed to play in the recent season opener, Jeremy Burris, director of the Tigers football program, explained to the news station.

The player in question was booted from the team after a week because of “a character issue.” As a way of protesting the child's removal from the team, the boy's family members showed up to practice Monday playing loud music and cursing.

The child's mother showed up to practice and began yelling at the coach, prompting the “team mom” to step in and urge her to calm down. Police had to be called and then left a short period later after briefly interviewing witnesses. However, a few minutes after cops left the scene, a group of men arrived and asked which coach had talked to their relative. When they found out, they confronted the coach and started beating him.

According to Fox News, one of the men was armed with brass knuckles and another flashed a gun. In hopes of stopping the brutal attack, the coach's wife pulled out a gun and fired a shot into the air. Police say the coach subsequently went to his car where he retrieved a second gun and then aimed it at his attackers.

Jesus! What sort of assholes are these? Threatening to harm and kill a fucking little league coach!? It's official, literally no job in which you work with breeders in close quarters is safe. It seems like they're all fucking crazy anymore!

It sounds like a case of the apple not falling far from the tree. Sounds like the kid was a troublemaker and the coach didn't want to deal with him so he kicked him off the team. I've heard of parents screaming at coaches over their kid being cut from the team, but guns? Narcissism is totally out of control in our society so no place is safe anymore.

Team sports have never built character. They may be fun but they're a substitute for war, albeit on a much smaller scale for local leagues. So why is anyone surprised at parents going ballistic?

The only character team sports helps build is making people turn into assholes more efficiently. People take sports WAY too seriously and fail to understand that whether it's the pro leagues or a bunch of little Adderal tards flapping across a public field, it's just a fucking game. "Character issue" means the kid was being an asshole because he was rasied by assholes, but coaches are there to make the best decisions for the team, not to suck one person's ass so they don't feel bad.

Sounds like no one in that whole family has ever heard the word NO before, as evidenced by the fact that they all felt the appropriate response to Moo not getting her own way was to sic men with weapons on the coach. You know, to learn him a lesson, which is that Screamy Moo's widdle snooky-wooky is the most important person on the team (and in the whole world).

Absolutely true. Breeders take everything way too seriously sometimes and they seem to justify their awful/illegal behavior in their minds because if it's for Junior, then it's okay. Angry heifers stomping into classrooms and screaming at teachers because Princess had to stay in for recess, coaches being beaten by the famblee of an asshole player, Moos bitching at and suing OBs for not adhering to their birfin' plans. If these breeders put half as much effort into raising their goddamn kids as they do blaming everyone else for their kids' problems, maybe the kids wouldn't be such epic failures at everything.

And here is the douche canoe manifesto right here:

http://www.thesportsfanjournal.com/sports/et-cetera/take-time-learn-hate-hatred-necessary-sports-fan/

If you can justify hate of a team it's a short jump to justifying hate of a group, race, or people with different opinions like hating the CF.

Notice in the comments all the duhs going to teach their children to hate. Teach them to hate a team, then teach them to hate the fans then wait for the Bryan Stows to happen.

The mere mention of the team name makes your blood boil. Your muscles tense up with ferocious anger. A venomous villain is around, and you’d give anything to watch it suffer and fall. It’s normal to have these feelings over a 60-minute, four-quarter or nine-inning game. It’s simply about the guys on the other sideline and in the other dugout, those scabby, filthy cheaters.

There are two fundamental principles of fanhood. You root for your team no matter the circumstance. Secondly — and just as important — you cheer as hard for the team playing those you dislike. The enemy of my enemy is my best friend. No matter the additional created tenets, they are distantly behind these two absolutes.

At some point in life, you’ve heard someone remark something along the lines of, “Hate is such a strong word.” If a stronger word existed, sports fans would use it. No exception to our second rule can exist — unless during intra-divisional games. A wavering soul who steps outside the laws forfeits fanhood. As with religion, movie plots and international affairs, there must be an enemy in the darkness to make our side feel that much brighter.

We live in a world full of irrational hate. The daily routine of some of our fellow Facebookers and Tweeters shows us how a mind can end up a pretzel. Irrationality seems to reign supreme. We hate traffic lights, rainy weather and strict attendance rules at work. These things are necessary, yet many of us can’t grasp their importance. Hate is real, and it’s out there for these small and understandable causes.

It’s worth hoping that sports fans keep their hatred directed at the foe, but that’s impossible. Believe it or not, fans are just people. As crazy as they may seem, at least they have an outlet to release some of their anger. Hating can be a healthy activity. Venting the negativity within can free your soul, if only for a short time.

A baby born in Chicago last week doesn’t know it yet, but he hates the Green Bay Packers. It will be taught to him if through nothing else than observance. That kid will grow to despise yellow and green. It’s the never-ending circle of fan life. When the Bears beat the Packers, he won’t thank his pop and brothers, but he should. The thrust of his fist in the air when the fourth-down stop on the goal line is made will make him feel alive again. It will bring him through lost relationships, failed papers and terrible jobs. For a moment, he will escape this cold world enough to let his disdain fuel a passionate high.

And they learn the lessons of hate well, if they can't take it out on the objects of hate, they turn on themselves and the parents and lawyers justify it:

Wenatchee 14-year-old charged with rape
Posted by John de Leon

The Associated Press

WENATCHEE — A 14-year-old high school freshman has been charged with second-degree rape after prosecutors say he sexually assaulted three students on a football team bus trip.

But the parents and attorney of the boy said it was horseplay among boys.

The alleged incident happened Sept. 6 on a bus bringing the Wenatchee High School freshman football team back from a game in Spokane, authorities said.

The boy has been in custody since then and is being held on $50,000 bail.

But the boy’s parents and their attorney, Brandon Redal, said the incident stemmed from “horseplay” and that the evidence doesn’t support rape charges, The Wenatchee World reported.

One of the victims initially told police officers that students were playing around and “he didn’t feel anything bad happened,” according to a police report filed with the court.

However, that student and two others later disclosed the assault to a detective, saying other players witnessed it.
