Lionel Shriver: "Parenthood is not a right"

Author Lionel Shriver has spoken about having figured out early she didn't want children, and also said that parenthood is not a right. She states that the NHS should "shrink their core purpose down to curing of disease and not the curing of dissatisfaction, and that means no parenthood is not a right, and it's an economic issue, it's not because I hate children."

I'd like to see them address dissatisfaction...through therapy, not through some costly procedure with a low success rate and serious health risks.
