People can't even afford to buy themselves houses, they sure as hell can't afford to buy someone else a house. Everyone deserves a place to live, and this Moo is not more deserving of a roof over her head just because she crapped out four unnecessary human beings.
And no, they are not environmentally friendly. When you have kids, you forfeit any right to call yourself environmentally friendly because you have placed another burden on an already burdened planet. Doesn't matter how green you are or how much you recycle or how organic you eat - if you have reproduced, you are bad for the environment, end of story. The greenest thing a person can do is not make more people.
I couldn't get the MSN story to load, but I found the same story elsewhere. People are seriously calling her "courageous" for sticking her hand out and begging? Since when have Moos ever been ashamed to beg for money? I know this is in Australia, but look how many breeder women are proud to be on the dole who will reproduce constantly to keep more benefits rolling in. If she has four brats, where are the baby-daddies? Why aren't they helping her raise her brood and build her house?
And what kind of house can she possibly build that's only $40,000? Actually, the total has been lowered to $33,500 after she shopped around for supplies a little more. From what I'm seeing, she wants a house that can easily be dismantled as well as a "dry composting toilet" (so an outhouse). Here is the list of expenses she shared:
Quote
- 2 8x3 ‘demountable’ (detachable and portable) waterproof structures for $20,000
- 1 12.5x3 ‘demountable’ waterproof structure for $5,000
- Several thousand dollars to transport the structures to a friend’s property
- An electrician to connect all of the wires necessary
- A ‘composting’ toilet (a dry toilet that decomposes human waste)
- A plumber to connect the pipes and water to the home
- A backup water tank
- Metal expansion rods that allow that demountable structures to be expanded later
Apparently a "demountable waterproof structure" is fancy talk for a pre-fabricated building. The images I got when I looked it up look like warehouses. I guess it's something that can also be disassembled and reassembled relatively easily (but it will still cost "several thousands dollars" to haul it from point A to point
.
She's also going to be living on someone else's land. Are they being nice enough to let her live there for free? Or will she have to pay rent? Will there be another gimme cash grab when she can't afford to live in this dream shack of hers? What if the friend has to move? Would the new property owners allow her to stay? Will there be another GoFundMe when she can't afford to pay for the utilities on this house? She is having electricity and running water installed, so it's not like they're going to be 100 percent roughing it. Is this kind of structure she wants to make something that can be attached to the ground properly? I don't know if Australia gets things like tornadoes, but just because her dream shack is waterproof does not mean it's weather-proof. Could this thing she's planning to build get blown away by a wind storm?
What about the vegetables she wants to plant and live off? Unless she wants her garden to wind up feeding all the local wildlife, she will have to invest further in things to protect the vegetables. Will she stick her hand out again when animals demolish the garden and they have nothing to eat? What about all the fixtures to go inside the house like sinks, a kitchen stove, a refrigerator, a bathtub/shower, a furnace/woodstove, and internet? I noticed those were not included in her budget. Are they going to not bathe, not cook, not wash their hands or dishes, not stay warm and not get online too?
How much money does she think she's going to make as an energy healer? I guess it's at least good she's not begging for money for a seven-figure mansion, but being handed a house isn't going to change the fact she will still have to pay to run the house and somehow feed four brats. I'll bet you any damn thing that if I as a CF person set up this exact same GoFundMe, nobody would donate a dime because I don't have kids I can't afford and therefore am not as worthy and I can just go live behind a dumpster. This precedent will just ensure that any time Moo experiences the tiniest financial crisis, she will go right back to begging for money online so everyone else can subsidize her lifestyle.
