After failed (tax) override, Northbridge families take out loans to fund sports and clubs (long article):

I would like to see more parents fund schools for their kiddies.

(From article) Last month, the town library, once open 40 hours a week, slashed its schedule to 12 hours a week. The senior center is scaling back its hours, too.

If we didn't have to pay so much "for the children," we could afford such items as senior centers and libraries that are not drop-off brat care centers.
I can understand the logic of taxing everyone to pay for academic programs, but I don't get why I should be taxed to pay for high-school football teams, cheerleaders, etc. I think that all the extra-curricular activities should be parent-funded. That would free up more money for libraries and computers.

But we can't pay to fund librarys, they're for EVERYONE...and not everyone appreciates to the glory and wonder of the magical CHYLDREN....
They don't need to be on those micro-managed, super-controlled teams with uniforms, overly-involved parents, and a bunch of rules anyway. If they really wanted to have a good time they'd just grab a few of the other neighbor kids and head to the nearest park. For FREE!

I'm SO sick of paying taxes that get funnelled right into the schools in my area, that I could puke. Now they are talking about reassessing the properties which means my taxes would DOUBLE.

but it makes a sort of sense, in a weird warped moo logic way (and government), close the libraries and the ickle snotlings, wont come across any radical ideas, they will have to rely on what teacher of priest told me, since they will ban the net as its evil coz of the porn, and the,,, sex.. and the blasphemous idea that people have choice

Parents should participate in paying for their kids' education. Not all people with children are homeowners and are subject to the taxes that go to the schools. I knew a woman who rented an apartment. Of course, she was a single moo who loved to drink and had a much-younger boyfriend living with her after her divorce. Boy was 18; Moo was 27! Yet, the moo bitched about having to buy school supplies such as - paper, pencils, pens, crayons, art supplies, and Kleenex - for her six-year-old brat. I know in my day that the schools provided this stuff for elementary school students but the piggy bank is running low in all states.

I remember how wasteful kids were when I was a grade schooler. It is about time that breeders start to supply their offspring with their own supplies. The sad thing is how many teachers will empty their own wallets when a moo refuses to ante up. If I was a teacher, I would just let the non-prepared brat to sit there with no paper or pencils. If no other kid will part with his/her stuff, too fucking bad if the brat ends up uneducated. It is not only the school's job to hand out supplies. In my day, the freebies of paper and the like stopped in junior high...

This part of the article pissed me the fuck off:

"(Kathryn) Ducey is president of the new Northbridge Education Foundation, which will coordinate the fund-raising effort. It will seek donations from residents and businesses totaling at least $110,000 to repay the debt, so the parents don't have to."

So they are trying to find ways to mooch off of others, so the fucking breeders don't have to pay it back after all.

Fuck that shit up the ass with a splintery flagpole! I'm glad I don't live in this town, and therefore won't be hit up by these damned leeches.

Exactly! YOU had the kids, YOU pay for them!

If a bleeding heart came knocking on our door asking for a donation for such shit, they'd be met with a smug response about being childfree and sent on their merry fucking way with nothing.
