I'm taking an Ethnomusicology course entitled "Music Cultures of the World". We're learning about singers in Tuva (which is bordered by Mongolia and Siberia) who perform throat singing: basically it's when one person can sing 2 notes simultaneously. The professor wants us to learn how to sing this way and keep a journal of our practice sessions; then he warned us about how this type of singing can be harmful for some people. The Tuvans require utmost physical strength and discourage women from trying it because it may cause infertility.
I think I found a new daily hobby, hehe.
