HAHA! Sucks to be MOOOOOOO!

I've been won over to Southern Comfort...not really, but I do appreciate their backbone. This weekend my town hosted the SoCo Music Experience, a FREE full day concert for people 21 and up to hang out and drink massive quantities of SoCo (or bud). In all the advertising for this event it specifically stated "21 and up, ID required". The rules also stated no framed backpacks, umbrellas or chairs.

My SO and I stopped by when the gates opened to scope out the scene and make sure we could just show up closer to the time when the band we wanted to see would be playing. We were chatting with the security folks when a group of about 7 folks, including moo and stroller, showed up. I was thinking "oh great, 21 and up really means adults AND parents with toddlers", because there's nothing small children like more than loud rock shows. And of course, while a chair, framed backpack or umbrella could become a weapon in the hands of an angry drunk, a hugeass stroller could never, ever be considered such a thing. Anyway, 5 people in the party were allowed entrance while the moo and stroller stayed stuck at the gate, arguing that Shitford was 2, and should therefor be allowed entrance to a 21+ event because he was with his Moo. The guards just kept saying "No, our insurance won't allow it". We just sat and watched for like 15 minutes while Moo argued, whined, and tried every trick in the book to be allowed to have her toddler enter the SOUTHERN COMFORT DRUNKEN ADULT MUSIC DRUNK ADULT EXPERIENCE. Fortunately, security held it's ground and ACCESS WAS DENIED.

It was supremely satisfying to see her have to call her friends out of the concert so she could get a ride home, where her fucking kid belonged. I was so pleased, actually that I had to write an email to SOCO congratulating them on their ability to stick by the "21+/no potential weapons" rule that seems to be so difficult for breeders to understand.

I'm also sick of this 21 and older shit with parents continually showing up with toddlers that just ruin everyone else's fun. You can't even go to a fucking winery or brew fest around here without there being at least 2 toddlers or infants to fuck up a good time. Parents are not supposed to have small kids in bars or clubs, why do they think an alcohol event of ANY kind is exempt?

BITCHIN'!!!! I don't really drink, but I might be tempted to buy a bottle of SoCo and put it in my kitchen cabinet to show some support. LOL

The rules clearly say "MUST BE 21+ AND SHOW VALID ID TO ENTER" But a big part of the entertainment for us is hanging out near the door and watching the staff kick out breeders with loaves and toadlers in tow. How fun it is to hear them bitch and moan and whine, but still not be let in!

Catdaddy and I have our tix for this year's fest, as well as a hotel room (we can't drive home drunk, after all!). And we can do this because...

Oooh, that must have been a beautiful moment!That makes up for the times that bar management has looked the other way while some parent brings an infant/toddler into the bar. Hate that.

You think that's bad. Years ago I had a friend who worked in an adult video store and told me stories about duhddies trying to bring the toadler into the fucking PORN STORE!!!!! And of course the many times the duhddies would leave little Shitley out in the car while he went into "browse the selections." Friend told me that they were told by the owner that ANYONE who shows up on the premises with a child is to be booted by security immediately. Friend said he always had to keep an eye on the parking lot for children in cars! Some fucktard even hid his toadler under a blanket in the back seat because he knew the rules -- when security went out to scan the parking lot they saw the brat hiding in the back seat and then drug duhddie out by his collar and told him never to return.

Breeders need to fucking DIE. Fuck 'em all!!!!

Catmommy9, thanks for the information about the Maine Brewers' Festival. I may take the bus up with some friends (also CF), drink great beer and watch breeder morons get what they deserve!
