Work emails from Breeders
January 25, 2008
This is only 1 in a series of emails I've been getting lately. This is from a doctor whom I've never met & works in a different office. His 10lb baby, the 5th one, needed heart surgery. His whole office was distraught & in tears (incl the other male & female doc) when they first heard the kid needed surgery, even though the kid was born 10lbs & surgeons waited a week to do the surgery b/c kid was healthy enough to wait. So it wasn't a life or death emergency.

Beginning of email- "Praises for the Lord, Baby is doing well"

Dear Family and friends,

Baby N had his surgery and all did go very well...He did not have any complications and the surgery was shorter than expected (1.5 hours versus 2 hours). Praise the Lord!! Thanks to all for praying and having our prayers answered.

Please continue to pray for no complications in the post operative period...and that he will nurse well soon.

God bless everyone praying for Baby N as God heals him.

In His name"- end of email

Sorry for all the ...'s but it went on & on. My manager even added to an earlier pre-surgery email how she "woke up this morning and realized that we can pray for a miracle, but Baby N IS the miracle, as he has touched all our lives". two faces puking

It's a-ok for them to pass around prayer requests even though this isn't a church or any Xtian religious organization, but one word outta me on the Paganism I'm now learning & the gates of hell would open & they'd probably find some lame indirect way to get me for it & fire my ass.

I don't know why everyone thinks that something like this is such a horrendous thing to have happen and then when everything goes well, it was the work of the Gourd. Yea, whatever. Breeders. 5 kids is disgusting.

I'd like to see them act that way if it were someone's pet who was very ill.

If they fire you for being Pagan, you can sue them. Witchcraft, Paganism, the whole gamut, is a legally recognized religion. Go to the Witch's League for Public Awareness website and click on legal.

Why on earth are you getting personal family oriented emails from a person you've never met? What's the point of it?

I'd email them back and inform them that you are trying to cut down on unneeded emails and you'd rather they not email you with non-work business.

sharon j,

LOL, The Sky Daddy, I love that!

It's so overbearing & suffocating to work here. The ASS-U-MING part bothers me the most.

Believe it or not, a few years ago they used to pass around "prayer chain" lists. If someone had an issue and were requesting The Power of Prayer, you would fill your name & phone # in a 15 or 30mn time slot that covered say, 6, 12 or 24 hour periods. You had to pray for that person at that time, then phone the next person in line for them to start praying, and so on. even if it was 2am.

I NEVER did this. Nobody is calling my personal home at anytime of day or night for me to send a wish to the Sky Daddy for someone who wouldn't care if I lived or died.

How about a message back saying that what the guy is doing is abuse of company facilities on company time and, anyway, you are not interested in the brat. Why do people think that strangers are interested in their fucking brats?

GrizzyCat: Who do you work for a Catholic hospital? If so, I'm afraid you're out of luck. How incredibly offensive it all sounds. I like what Mercuier said best: that Gawd mustn't like the little bastard very much to have given him a heart condition. LOL!

While I like the idea of complaining to superiors about duh sending e-mails that aren't work related, doing so could cause a backlash and lead to scrutiny of your own e-mails. It seems reasonable to say that everyone sends an occasional personal e-mail from work, and trying to get management to crack down on and discipline one for doing so could lead to problems for all, including the one who complained.

I agree with Mercurior. God's the one who gave the baby the problem in the first place... Amazing how selective religious fervor can be.

I am glad you mentioned this issue. On www.witchvox.com, there was an article last week from a woman who wants more pagans to hide their beliefs on the job: meaning do not go to an interview wearing a pentacle or dark clothing and so forth. It is horrible when our own people are suggesting that we keep our beliefs in the closet.

No, that's the thing. It's not a Catholic or even any type of religious organization. It's just a regular medical billing office affiliated with a regular hospital.

That's why it gets me so much, because majority always rules, Xtian over non-xtian, breeders over CF. I'm getting to the point in life where I want to speak up and I'm sick of just accepting all the hypocracy, but I'm so frustrated b/c with my husband out of work I don't want to risk anything.

So like sv66 said, I just delete the emails & move on of course, but one has to vent for Sky Daddy's sakes and I'd rather do it here than to my manager.

That's why I'd never say anything here. The fault always comes down on the pee-ons anyway, and I actually like a couple of people here.

As usual it's always ok when it's a higher-up or a doctor emailing something, even if they emailed us an order to drink the kool-aid.

Re: Work emails from Breeders

I got a different email today. This one WAS work related, but worth mentioning.

My "team lead" has been out at a training for 3 weeks, and her work was dumped on me. Soon after she gets back, she'll be going on moo leave with #3, and guess who will probably be stuck with her shit again. Just for background's sake, she is the youngest of our group & the day she left, she told us "Just remember, M or C might sit at my desk when I'm gone," implying we needed babysitting. I was seeing red that day.

Her email to me was that our manager inquired to her why none of her/my work was done. Said team lead wrote to "remind" me to do it in case I forgot. And for me to let her know if I don't have time. As if I'd actually wait weeks to say I didn't have time.

After some research, I found out SHE didn't finish said work before she left, it wasn't me at all. HA! I promptly emailed them all back an FYI with the details in a flat tone, and added that I corrected the issue.

It feels great to catch anyone's fuck-up after being called on it yourself, but her breeder smugness makes it that much sweeter.

Even if you are a christian, that is discrimination. Just because someone is a christian, doesn't mean we have to pray for trash. What loosers. I would sue if I were you. I second what all others have been saying.

Yep, I agree. It's that office politricks bullshit. if you're not a "higher up", you can't make crust for pie, but the admins can do anything they want. You can offer an opinion, but that will, I'm sure, get filed into your file and you will tend to get picked on for the rest of your employment there or eventually "laid off."
Re: Work emails from Breeders

I gotta share, I gotta share...!

When i was in 9th grade (mid-1980's), I attended a Catholic all-girls parochial school, and one day, they sent around a petition for an "anti-smut" campaign. You see, a local convenience store, which was associated to a privately-owned video-rental place, had just opened up an "adults-only" back-room: a porn shop. This campaign enlisted help from the Catholic community, which in turn enlisted the help of students enrolled in my school. The campaign did not only ask us to SIGN the petitions, but also to take blank petitions and solicit signatures on its behalf, in our "spare time". I did not only NOT sign the petition, but also did not take any blank petitions to solicit signatures in MY spare time. Well, I got called to the principal's office for being the ONLY student in that school as such (they already had a red flag on me for being one of the only two students who was NOT against abortion), and had to explain WHY. Of course, I explained that there was this thing called the First Amendment, and the nun said, "So if you had a kid, would you want them to have access to this material? etc. etc." and I replied, "No, but it is a restricted area in the store and if enough people are against it, they will have to close the business." [When have there EVER been enough people against porn, except maybe in Utah?]

The nun really had no argument, although she tried to make it appear so, and they couldn't very well force me to participate. I transferred back to the public school in my sophomore year, for a variety of reasons including this one. The store still has its porn-shop.

Wow, they asked under-aged kids to sign that crap? Well, I was in HS then too, and I CAN see that happening then, but not now. These days kid's parent would have their kid's personal lawyer go over it first.

You were a hundred times more intelligent than that whole school staff. Good thing you escaped the insanity & transferred to public. I wish I had. I got stuck at my Catholic girls prison for 4 years.

I begged my parents to let me transfer since they didn't have the $$ and I was miserable there, but they wouldn't budge. They still kept complaining about the $$ anyway, so I had that guilt on top of it all.

That's right; although we are talking about private, religious schools, so maybe not. In public school, definitely, and I don't think they would have tried it back then (although I do remember the POA in public schools used the words "under god").

The Catholic schools assumed that parents put their kids in there because of religion. I was in public school until 6th grade when Prop. 2.5 was passed and my parents thought the public schools were going to implode. I wanted to go because I had friends going there and I was always getting beat-up and bullied by the kids in public school. My parents had just gotten divorced and after three years my father was relieved that there was yet one less thing again to pay for. High school still sucked, but for plenty of other reasons.

Come to mention it, I've even had to sit through meetings with our director who is a Full Of The Holy Spirit Xtian preaching about how much Gawd has helped us get through the rocky times, or how Hawer Lowyrd blessed her with such good employees. I hope I just implode from non-belief at the next pointless sermon.

And recently, I heard & saw my coworker who is another Jeebus hugger going around to other employee's desks with a pamphlet from her House of Whoreship. It was about a talk coming up regarding creation vs. evolution. (Sigh...)

I heard her whispering to each person about it, saying sarcastically & sort of chuckling, "YOU don't really believe we were monkeys, now do
you?" I don't get how otherwise normally intelligent people's minds shut off when you mention Gawd. I'm not a genius, so how did I start questioning things & they didn't???

"So if you had a kid, would you want them to have access to this material? etc. etc."

Uhh...kids have no access to porn in stores. Porn stores check ID's. Kids do have access to porn in PRIVATE HOMES.

We had a porn store fight going on in my "progressive" city for a few years because...well, I don't know why because all the reasons the city had for trying to shut it down were bogus.
"It attracts crime" - the porn store has maybe 2 police calls per year...the college meat market beer barns have at least 2 police calls per week
"It is unsightly" - the porn store is the best maintained building in that neighborhood
"What about the children?" - they're not allowed in the porn store
"It's exploitative" - the people in the American porn industry freely choose that profession, and the porn store doesn't sell/rent underground porn
And well, just because the local porn shop gets shut down doesn't mean people won't be able to access it.

Ok, I'm getting really pissed off with this shit now.

Today I got another status report on baybee and request that we pray, pray, pray.

Not that I'm that suprised, but the reason I'm newly pissed is because in-between today's email & the original one, the mother of this baby also had a health scare.

They found a lump in her esophagus after baybee was born & she needed emergency surgery. And guess what....NO EMAILS!

Everyone just heard this through the grapevine. If you are going to email total strangers about your baybee, then why not your own wife who might have cancer? One of todays prayer requests was that baybee feel no pain or anxiety in upcoming procedure. What about you're freaking wife's anxiety?

Well, it ended up being a benign bulge that formed from the 10lb loaf pushing up on her guts (sounds fun). I mean I shouldn't be getting any of these emails, but I just get it. If the wife crashes who cares, but if the baby takes a crap, stop the fucking presses.

What is wrong with these people???
