If my company HAD to enact something like this due to a federal law, they'd calculate how many breeder men worked here, get the figure, then take that amount from the benefit package they already offer. Everyone would suffer.

Having kids is still an option. If you can't afford it, don't do it, and don't expect everyone else to pay for your decisions.

Family leave should be exactly that - family - which means parents, siblings, spouses, or unwell older children. It's not "breeder leave" or "baby leave". Make it accessible to everyone and I have no complaints, but make it only for breeders and it pisses me off.

You can use family leave time to take care of an an aging mother or father.

Also, I think very small businesses are exempt from the Family Leave Act.
