Teen falls into trolley

A Medford teenager engrossed in a cellphone call tripped and fell right into a moving Green Line trolley early this morning, according to an MBTA spokesman.

Jae Woo Paeng, 19, was cut in the head after he tripped over a curb and fell against a moving MBTA B Branch car on Commonwealth Avenue near the Harvard Street stop around midnight.

He was taken to Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Officials say Paeng’s injuries were not life threatening. Witnesses told police Paeng was talking on his cellphone and apparently not paying attention to where he was going.

“It is important that people always be careful around trolley rights-of-way,” said MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo.

If people can't walk and chew gum at the same time without a mishap, then they need to stay out of the general population as they are a hazard to all with whom they come into contact. If they can't drive and change a radio station without bending down below the dash to do it, STAY HOME. If they can't push a store buggy and look at shelves for what they want to buy simoultaneously, without taking the ankles off the person ahead of the because of their lack of peripheral awareness, STAY HOME. Likewise, if they can't talk on a cell while walking down a public sidewalk without tumbling into a moving vehicle, then they do NOT belong in public.

Can these people not multitask AT ALL? We are'nt asking that they man a spaceship and watch the little red and green buttons and listen to instructions at the same time on a headset, we just want them to be able to WALK and TALK at the same time without wreaking havoc to society. These people are accidents waiting to happen, but luckily this time the idiot didn't take out a whole city block while he was at it.
