Wow...that story was just sickening. I can't believe you had to put up with that kind of shit from entitlement-minded breeders. And what is worse is that the damn Duh actually succeeded in getting his kid out of detention. This is going to teach that kid two things: that she can be irresponsible and not have to pay the price for it, and that her Duhddy will bail her out of any trouble she gets herself into. The man is a lawyer - I wonder if he'll be pleading with the judge to not throw her ass in prison when she's charged with theft.

At the risk of sounding like my mother, I wonder if this guy got what he wanted because of his profession.

Looks like the father couldn't take rules that easily.

Sherz, what happened at the afterschool meeting about the policy of giving ten minute detentions for unsigned folders?

What's their policy on unsigned permission slips for field trips, school events, etc.?

Jackass. He was definately on a power trip. We all know what would happen if he tried pulling this crap in court.
Oh, my whimpy-assed, yuppie-loving principal told us we could no longer give out time for unsigned folders, because it was too harsh (mind you, we gave them three school days after the weekend to get it back). We had the parents sign them so we would have some idea that they had seen their child's graded papers. After the children found out they weren't accountable for having their signed folder returned in a timely manner, we never again saw some of the childrens' folders. Of course, then we had complaints from the parents that they weren't seeing their childs' graded papers. The policy on other signed papers was less stringent. They were usually due by whatever date was placed on them. If they weren't returned, we would call the parent in the case of a field trip so the child wouldn't miss it.
This jackass's power trip did work for him, and it continues to work now that his child is in high school. Sadly, teachers and administration live in fear of being sued.

How do busy working parunts have TIME for this crap? Their kyd did something wrong, and a 10 min detention is not HARSH in any sense of the word.

And breeduhs wonder why we think today's brats are coddled.

Goddamn, I wish I was a kid now, they don't have to do anything at anytime.

I also wonder where parents find the time to march into their child's school and bark at teachers when they themselves have jobs they should be doing. These will be the same parents who, in about ten to fifteen years' time, will be harassing high school instructors to give their Ascleeigh a higher grade because she plays sports, will be mooing to professors to extend the project deadline by another week, and will bitch to employers who fire the kid's ass for being lazy and expecting more for less. This is, of course, ASSuming that the kids will make it through high school, to college and/or hold down a job.

The world is destined to be run by a league of elite retards, at the rate the parents are coddling them and foam-padding things for them.

Or they will have menial (low paying) jobs, such as my sil.

but if the dad is a big lawyer, then, the chances are the kid will have a fluff job (a job of no use whatsoever but is done as a favour to the dad)
Or if she makes daddy mad, she'll end up with a fluffer job.

FYI, A fluffer is the off screen person who helps to maintain the erections of male porn actors.
