Just another socialist wealth-redistribution scheme. And as usual, it encourages poor people to breed, which is something that they absolutely should not do under any circumstances, that is if they're interested in ever leaving the ranks of the impoverished.
Two decades from now this program will be on the verge of collapse. Simple mathematics dictates that it will have to at the very least, double in size and scope, as the poor population will, at the very least, reproduce itself once over. When that day comes, those who call for the program to end will be chastised as being racist, sexist, bigoted, anti single mother, or whatever the current insult du jour happens to be. Those in favor of the program will say that the program would've worked better if only it had been funded more, paid out greater benefits, included more people on the dole, etc. etc.
Justin Trudeau is a typical Limousine Leftist. He was born on third base and thinks he's hit a home run. He believes that government should run people's lives. He has no knowledge of classical economics, and has accumulated little in the way of life experience when it comes to human nature. Did this man, the son of a former prime minister, ever actually work a day in his life? Let's be real here... he's never had to compete on a level playing field, and work to survive. As a result, he subscribes to the socialist doctrine--the immoral belief that it's okay to steal the fruits of the labor from one group and give it to another, all in the name of "social justice." At the at the end of the day, he gets into his limousine, retires to his mansion, and eats gourmet food. He thinks he's done a good deed. I am curious if the tar sands miner, putting in a 55 hour week of toil, shares that same opinion.
In a truly just nation, there would be no benefit for bearing any children, or not bearing them. Government would not be in the business of influencing people's personal decisions in any direction.

I agree and Trudeau is living off his famblee's wealth. Even if he earns income his daddy paved the way for him. I agree about the no benefit/benefit for bearing any children.

The following traits make for a REALLY bad politician: Anyone who has never had to work for a living, never worked in the private sector, never was responsible for turning a profit, never worried about acquiring money in order to meet the basic needs of food/shelter/medicine, never worried about money in their life.
Trudeau is all of the above. And he's not the only one.
He has no comprehension, whatsoever, when it comes to the value of money and the sacrifices an individual puts forth to earn that money. And when you don't understand the value that something holds for an individual, it's easy for you to tell them that it isn't worth very much, and that they should just give it away. And in this case, he's using the power of government force to steal it from them, to steal what they sacrificed for, in order to give it away to those who haven't put forth the same sacrifice.
The only thing this will lead to in Canada, long-term, is a huge spike in the number of unwanted children.

While I think there should be an some sort of welfare for those that suffer a sudden bad time, Ithink there should be a strict benifit cap. That is, one that doesn't increase if you have children while on it. Knowing that getting pregnant would mean you or the rest of any existing children would not have as much food between everyone might make someone consider strapping on that condom a bit more.
However, there are some people that would still breed even if they were under severe financial hardship, even with the likelyhood of those funds not increasing. Although, I found the the book '2 Dollars a Day' and read many of the shit decisions people still make even while financial collapse is likely (mostly having babies they can't afford, some moving in too many family members that can't/don't work.) The author tries to tell you to feel sorry for them because of teh mommies and babbies and poverty, but I couldn't help be think many of these folks were mostly just fatally stupid. (I'm quite poor, and I was shaking my head at these people.)
They'd have to add the stipulation of taking birth control then, or temporary sterilization if they want to stay on welfare. That's what I would do, although some people would bitch that 'Having babbies is a right!' ;P

I so agree with it. I don't know any politicians but I met people from such a privileged background and
those people are *somewhere else*. They have no idea how hard life can be/is.

I live in a place where breeders get lots of money for having kids. In case you have a low-wage job, you'd better calve because you get much more money and still the birth rates have gone down a lot. I posted here about a town which launched a welfare program offering 10.000 euros per loaf in order to increase births. The program failed and they stopped it this year.
Of course, now everybody is moaning that the government should pay more because the welfare now it's not enough.

This infuriates me, by giving famblies only money per month, they are perpetuating the cycle of breeding and poverty. Yet there are other classes that still struggle and work for a living.I've posted an open letter to Justin Trudeau on my blog and also contacted the liberal party with the link. Keep fighting the good fight. Programs like this one don't make for a good citizen body... only a more needy one. Need begets need.

They do the same in Oz, and it's a breeder's paradise. Working moos squirt a few clumps, and they hit the jackpot, which continues to be a windfall as schooling and tax benefits pay for them to be lazy SAHMs.
