CF travel advice?
January 08, 2009
Hi, everyone. I'm wondering if any of you can give me advice on a good cruise line or ship to book that will not be full of kids. My husband and I are planning to take a cruise this coming September for our anniversary, but we haven't booked anything yet. My worst nightmare is to plunk down a couple grand on cruise and plane tickets, only to have the fun ruined by a bunch of screaming brats - and worse, their idiot parents. I think I would lose my mind. I have been reading some cruise forums and have seen a lot of complaints about kids. Kids running down the halls at night, knocking on doors, generally acting obnoxious. And the stories about the parents are worse. A woman who took her INFANT into a hot tub only to have it go unconscious and rushed to the ship's doctor (!!!), parents who expect the staff to watch their kids, etc. I cannot handle this. So, please give me some advice if you have any! Thanks!

Google that- I have and there's a ton of hits. Even Disney has adult options. If you can stand THE MOUSE.

Your vacation budget and the likelihood of kiddies surrounding you are inversely proportionate. In other words, the more you spend, the more civilised it will be, or the cheaper it is, the more likely you'll be arse-deep in ill-mannered breeders.

I like the look of 'adult only cruise' search at http://www.adultonlycruise.net/

I feel kinda perverted putting "adult only"-anything into Google... adult only cruise brings up lots of sketchy stuff!

I don't know about cruises, but this definitely proved to be true when my husband and I were looking into all-inclusive resorts for our honeymoon. And yes, it was SOOOO worth the extra money to get into an adults only resort.

It's also good to be explicitly requesting a CF option from travel agents/cruise lines/resorts...the more such requests they get, the more they'll look to marketing things to the CF (with money to spend), and our options will hopefully increase.
