I have to assume this little freak is some idjit ten-year-old who takes his Pokemon way too seriously. The gist of this lovely tale is that I made a picture of two popular Pokemon being gay, and the overall response was pretty divided. About half the people loved it, and the other half were either confused or didn't care for it, but everyone was mature about what they said. Except one dummy.

Kidlet was asking why I made his favorite Pokemon gay, to which I replied that I wanted to because it's fanart. His response was "Just keep in mind that some people find it offensive, okay?" Well, if seeing your cartoon hero getting chummy with another character (who is essentially genderless) in a homosexual way upsets you, just move away from the image. No need to tell the artist "This offends ME - shame on you for not appealing to MY tastes!" The little shit probably dosen't even know what it means to be offended. He also put the same BS in a similar piece in my gallery.

And just for fun, I checked on DA's search system...the only way the little snatch dragon could have found the piece in question is if he actively searched for that particular character pairing, as opposed to searching for just the one character.

I admit, I used to do shit like this when I was a wee moron. Then I realized that if I don't like something that someone has put thought and effort into like a piece of artwork or writing, I should just move on, NOT tell the person how much they offended me. I didn't even bother dignifying him with further comment because I don't want to spark a debate with an idiot tween.

Little children obviously DON'T belong at Deviantart (it's got LOTS of pornography featuring female parts, BTW!), even though it's mostly populated by young kids.

I must admit, the first time I saw alternative pokemon couples I was a touch freaked out, but I didn't hang around to comment! I quickly clicked away from whatever it was that I found.

Banshee is right; brats don't belong on dA. In fact, the only place brats belong is locked in the closet.

I hope that Pikachu and Polywhirl can get it on because those are the only two I have.

I never paid much attention to DA because I assumed it was 100% kids and teens, but it's nice to see there are some adults too. Pay no mind to the adolescent simpleton. Most of them behave that way.

Anyway, what program did you design that in? I've always been curious about what people use to create art like that. Your drawing is terrific.

Are you guys getting the newest game that's coming out in March? I'm ashamed to admit that at my age, I still can't stop playing and it only gets worse. Last time my husband was ready to call the nuthouse because I was furious at being fooled by a Sudowoodo.

You've got a Pichu there, PP. It evolves into Pikachu when it's happy. With a thunderstone, you can evolve Pikachu into Raichu.

And there is a Jigglypuff. There is the baby form, Igglybuff, then Jiggly, then the last evolution, Wigglytuff (with moon stone).

There's lots of things on DA that can be construed as "offensive"...homosexual pairings between fictitious characters, naked men and women (there's lots of photos of penises there). I think one person who is an FTM showed photographic progression from female to male, such as post-breast-reduction surgery pics, or the effect testosterone was having on his/her once lady bits. It's not a cutesy little kiddie art board...I kind of wish there was an age limit there, like no one younger than 15 can become a member or view the site.

Cherryice, thanks very much for the compliment. :hello For that piece, I did an ink drawing, scanned it, re-drew the lines in Illustrator and then colored it in PhotoShop. And by all means, don't feel bad about playing the games still. I still enjoy the Blue and Silver versions. I don't think my Silver version works anymore because I threw it against the wall many times while trying to find those goddamn legendary dogs that managed to teleport everywhere.

It really blows my mind when people consciously log onto a special interest internet site where the name of it CLEARLY illustrates what it's all about, and if it that didn't give them a clue then a cursory glance at the subject matter and pictures should have. THEN to go on and complain that something on it is "offensive", NO SHIT SHERLOCK!!!!! I read a variety of things on a daily basis and some of it I find offensive to my personal tastes, so I log OFF of that area or keep on reading if I am in a curious mood or feel like getting pissed off. I wouldn't go to a shit fetish site, for example, and make posts about how disgusting they are and how OFFENSIVE this material is to some people. First of all, if they wallow in, enjoy the smell of, and eat shit, then they probably already know that people think that they are gross, ya know? This immature childish behavior is what also motivates adults into the child-like behavior of becoming amateur trolls. 1) They seek out what offends them 2) They publically claim how offensive it is, 3)They keep on reading it and logging onto it, 4)They try to gain a following of likeminded trollettes who ALSO think that whatever it is is offensive. They do this ON the "offensive" site, which is not to be confused with copying and pasting shit that's considered offensive and discussing it some place else where likeminded individuals gather. .


This senseless and stupid behavior is much like the idiot in that documentary The Faces of Death (part two, I think) who while his wife was filming him and BEGGING him to come back and get in the car, he approached a 900lb Grizzly bear with a piece of meat in his hand the size of a Krystal burger and kept getting closer to him saying, "Here bear!!!" Needless to say, he epitomized the name of the show after his 4th or 5th, "HERE BEAR!!!!!!". Idiots like this generally get what they ask for, IMO.

I really don't get what the kid (or anyone who does this stuff on any special interest site) is hoping to achieve by saying the site's content offends them. Do they think their opinion matters that much that everyone who is offending them will just immediately stop doing what they're doing just for them? Did this kid think I was going to remove one of my popular pieces just for him because he was immature enough to express outward distaste in the image's content?

I also find it humorous how he says "Some people find this offensive" instead of coming right out and saying he doesn't like it.
