These vacation/travel brochures are to show us where NOT to go!
ICK!

I think most of us have seen the commercials for a group of resorts called Sandals that are entirely childfree and for couples only. Check it out!

Thanks VLM, but we're trying to save vacations like Sandals for when it's snowing here - we live in New England and the winters here can be brutal!
If that's the case Catmeow, choices are very limited for the cf!
WaterLily - WAY too much trouble to travel with kids. My girl and I once sat in a mall parking lot and for the heck of it timed a family with two children to leave their van. Getting the HUGE strollers out of the back and ready to accept the kids, then getting the kids out of the car seats and in the stollers, grabbing the diaper bags... on and on... ten minutes! My shopping could be done by then! winking smiley

Here's some childfree vacation suggestions...and websites

I never thought of this until now, but going to "honeymoon" or "romance" destinations will probably guarentee you a childfree vacation. They're catering to adults who want romance and as well all know, children and romance don't mix. Also, places where "the gays" go seem to be generally childfree, there's even an unoffical "gay days" at Disney world and surrounding parks (May30 - June 4 '06), which probably leads to many famblies avoiding the area at that particular time. Mr. & Mrs. Breederson don't want to have to explain to Snotqford and Brattleighq why those two men are holding hands.

and now that I'm on a google tear...here's more adults only vacation accomidations.
http://www.gaiahr.com/ (this actually sounds cool, and not too sleazy, situated in or near a wildlife park - the only mention of it being adults only I could find was in the blurb that came up when I googled)

You know, I really figure I should just go to the Disneyland gay day with another female friend and just claim we're gay. Two adult women? They aren't going to question anything, and it's Disneyland without the kids!

Hmmm....
What about the gays with kids?
CFBoston, have you ever been to Italy? Italy is a great place to go. Very romantic, and there's a lot to see and do, of course. Italy has one of the lowest birth rates in the Western world. I would go NOW or go in very late summer or early fall when colleges are back in session (and to avoid the tourist famblees). Plus, the weather is still mild then. I went to Northern Italy and the only little kids I saw were two Italian toddlers in Venice.
I'm with CatMeow. Those brochures are like big warning signs for the CF. smiling smiley

Other tricks for avoiding breeders: Vacation when school is in session and travel to non-tropical places. Our next (hopefully CF) trip: Tallinn!

Gay day at Disney isn't sanctioned or approved by Disney, it's not an "offical" thing. It's just advertised within the gay community that on this day, if you want to go to Disney in a red shirt to let Cindarella and Mickey Mouse know you're gay, that's where the rest of the gays who want to go to Disney in red shirts will be. There are no specials, promotions or what have you, just a bunch of folks in red shirts. I first heard about it when a christian organization raised a big stink about it because, "How dare THEY go to Disney!" And yes, there will still be children there I'm sure, but as of yet children are allowed in most theme parks on most days, but I'm guessing that there will be way way fewer than are there on the remaing 364 non-gay days.

The thing with gays and kids is that for the most part, they actually wanted the kids and had to do a whole bunch of work to get them. For most gay folks I know who have kids, they didn't "just happen", and they don't seem to have the whole "they must be from my perfect genetic material" complex that childless heteros have.
