I was born in a time when I did not have to worry about "polio summers". And I am beyond grateful for that! I could not imagine having to risk disability every time someone coughed or sneezed near me.

We need to back to the way it was in my parents' when a public health nurse came to the school and gave all the kids vaccinations. The kids lined up in the hall, got their shot or drops and that was that. There were no special sneauxflayke exceptions.
