Rollins himself has battled depression as well, though he admits he has never hit the all-time low. He managed to battle his way out. But in comparing Robin, Henry did not have bipolar and substance issues and Parkinsons.

The suicidal person is not thinking about anyone or anything because they are stuck in their pain.The problem with people who get to this point is they don’t see who loves them. They don’t see the good anymore. They have a tunnel vision of pain that has only one discernable exit albeit a permanent one.

Most people are seeing it from the point of view of those left behind and this decision makes no sense. Looking at it from the depressed person’s POV it makes perfect sense. But either way it does not alleviate the pain of those left behind because they will always think they could have helped.

This. What makes it worse is that logically you know that you have people who love you, but you can't feel it or really convince yourself of this fact. Being suicidally depressed just utterly fucks up your perception of absolutely everything.
