WKMG reports that sheriff’s investigators pulled 17 vague entries only from the computer’s Internet Explorer browser, not the Mozilla Firefox browser commonly used by Casey Anthony. More than 1,200 Firefox entries, including the suffocation search, were overlooked.

Whoever conducted the Google search looked for the term ‘‘fool-proof suffication,’’ misspelling ‘‘suffocation,’’ and then clicked on an article about suicide that discussed taking poison and putting a bag over one’s head.

The browser then recorded activity on the social networking site MySpace, which was used by Casey Anthony but not her father.

While I agree with both of your sentiments, I still think it might be worthwhile.

Bringing the information to light (even now) might help investigators in the NEXT case to be a little more careful when checking out a suspect's computer activity. When I heard they only looked at activity from ONE search engine, I just about fell over.

And it is important to reiterate, especially to the public, who are often quick to activate the Suffered Enough^tm or Only Looked Away for a Second^tm defense, that many parents ARE guilty of killing their kids.

These guys didn't know their computers I guess. I have IE, Firefox, Opera, Chrome, and Safari on my PC. I find some browsers work better one some sites than others, so it varies what I use.

Sometimes a person can be retried for a crime if new evidence surfaces, but I doubt this would be enough to warrant a retrial.

I will admit that I am relatively ignorant of all this. On this thing here - Safari only, operating off the neighbor's wifi (they let me) - so I make sure to be very careful - because the authorities would come for them, not me Yeah, I'm sure they'd figure it out though, if I were up to no good.

The only things I look at here would be this board and a few other 'entertainment' type sites, which I do not post on. This is one of the few sites I actually post on.

Now the 'work system' - that's a whole nother ball game. I have two DSL connects for that (and it's all the phone co. says they can do, I could use more actually), and it must remain *completely closed*. No wifi, that's a potential compromise, and nor can I fool with it. I work with financial data and do live trading - it must remain 'closed'. We (biz partners and I) have IT people / consultants who set that all up and etc, so they have told me what I can and cannot do with it.

Thankfully my new neighbors here (the H is an IT guy also) allow me to use their network for my 'entertainment' things. They are trying to get more DSL lines too, he's got it rerouted down street to his office network as is, like it matters anyway because the whole of the grids fail here OFTEN. We also DESPERATELY WANT!!! Fiber Optics - they (phone co.) advertise it all over the place - do we have it here? NO.
Grrrr. This would be a tremendous help! (OMFG! - because I can do most of my stuff at home or off site - I was looking at this place near Iowa. I saw on the town's website that they were holding a 'community meeting' to discuss getting DSL. eyes2 OK. I can't move there - I couldn't work there. I am dependent on net for work. Maybe you could get satellite though ~ )

This is something to keep in mind actually - for certain things, I know some peeps on the board here are interested in trading, even just as a side line or hobby or manage their own things - you have to keep that *completely separate* and closed. Hackers target financial stuff. Even your own online bank accounts! So do be careful.

I literally can only look at a few things. The work system? Not much. This - I cannot make any trouble for the neighbors. Porn? I NEVER look at porn - I can't (well, they (neighbors) said they didn't care about that - they don't care about anything outside of terrorist threats) - but still - I just don't so as not to cause issues. Like it would load on this old junk Mac laptop anyway.

You have to watch what you do. I sometimes have to look up chemical related things, for biz issues - even *that* makes me paranoid. I'm not building bombs, I'm studying metals (I'm in hard commodities.) Most of that I can do over the one work line, the more 'relaxed' one, but sometimes I do it on 'this' also, I even get skittish about that. Like the "Bomb Squad" will show up or something LOL.

But of course whoever might be reviewing my history (and like ATT knows what the fuck it's doing eyes2) They would see that I'm in such a biz, so. I don't worry too much.

(Here, from what I have read and heard from LEOs - they do know what that is and watch it. They're quite sophisticated here. I cannot believe FL LEOs were so dense on even simple things eyes2 )
