Last year someone asked me to go march with them to support illegals and I refused, and they brought up the fact that I was a first generation American and I was insulting my heritage and history. My parents were LEGAL immigrants. See, my parents came here on a fellowship and after their fellowship was up, my parents were offered jobs (read: they proved they could be very productive members of society). If my parents did not have that job waiting for them, they never would have stayed.
I'm all for immigration, so long as it's legal and the person who comes to this country does so by becoming a productive member of society. I'd rather waste my energies on letting talented engineers from countries such as India and China come here and betterenabling them to work on their chosen fields.
