I saw a friend who has a new age shop while having to make a trip in to Central Florida. Her employee is pregnant. The girl is 20 and has nothing but a bunch of merchandise that she buys at cost due to working for my friend. She lives with her best friend and her boyfriend of maybe five months who has worked less than he has lived in the area. The young woman, naturally, is already on Medicaid -- socialist medicine for single moos.
My friend is also expecting. I am not thrilled about that, either, but at least, the woman has her own home and business. She can afford a second kid. The lady is in her mid-30's and has a child from her deceased husband. The bad thing is that she also got pregnant within three months of intense dating and right after a marriage proposal that got her the diamond ring. Also, the first marriage was going to divorce court before the man died. This is like a repeat of her first pregnancy and marriage...but oh well...I do hope it works out for her this time.
The really sad thing is the young employee and I talked at great length about making good life decisions before I moved. I spoke to her a great deal about NEVER supporting a man as a fellow who lives off of a woman has no respect for her. She had done that with another young man so he could go to school. All she has from that past relationship is a ton of debt. Hell, she cannot get electricity turned on in her name due to the outstanding bill with the electric company. I shared my mistakes about the marriage I left in the beginning of the year due to the same issues. Young people never learn from other people's experiences...
The young lady also had a horrible mother who treated her so badly and now her sister is dealing with mental abuse. As always, the gal always said she would raise her kids differently. All of these young mothers from abusive homes say the same thing. My former childhood best friend said this as well as her dad is an alcoholic who can no longer function due to "wet brain" (he may be dead by now). Yet, she and her husband - who is actually a nice guy - had a child in the early 90's. The woman drank and partied like her father.
I can only see a train wreck coming. The store owner says she knows this youngster, which is basically what the young mom-to-be is, will not be around for the heavy X-Mas/Yule Season. The little dummy thinks she will be back to work two weeks after giving birth around October/November. Right! And...the daddio-to-be got fired from some convenience store job after tardiness. Lovely! What can you do...
