2314 Celebrity Childfree Decisions-Rachel Ray

I always kinda figured Rachel Ray was one of us. YEAH! I love her show.

Anyway, I don't get this selfish thing said by some of the breeders. How are we selfish? I still don't get it. They're just pissed because we've chosen NOT to make a mess of our lives.

Sucks to be them.

Yaayyy for Rachel Ray Thank you

I gotta admit I was pleasantly surprised by the generally positive comments. Of course, there had to be a breeder pissing and moaning but I'm pleased to see she was put in her place.

Helen Mirren is also childfree (and proud of it!), and they posted about it on the CBB as well. Again, the responses were overwhelmingly supportive. I think that the people on the CBB are mostly parents, not breeders.

I just love the "but she doesn't know what she's missing not having children" bullshit. Really? And do you know what you're missing by not having a wildly successful television carear? Do you know what you're missing by NOT winning an oscar? travelling to space? visiting thailand? strangling paris hilton with your own two hands? Probably, but you know what, we deal with the choices we make in our lives every freaking day, and we miss out on a shit ton of amazing experiences. Yeah, I'm missing out on giving up my dreams to raise some kids...get the fuck over it already.

What are we missing by not working in the sex industry?
Annie Sprinkle is a famous sex-positive feminist and former porn star and prostitute. She puts out the sex industry as another option, a choice, but is the first person to say that it is not for everyone, and that if you doubt you would enjoy the lifestyle, don't try it. If only parents could be that way! It seems to me that a woman is judged as much for not having a child as she is for working in the sex industry--they try to get talked out of both!

Only thing is, you can quit working in the sex industry, you can't quit being a parent.

That is the main reason these women call the childfree names and label us as "selfish". Misery enjoys company. They are angry that we have chosen to not fuck up our lives as well.

Women join the sex industry when they say, "I do," after they have done all of the tricks to get the man they were dating to commit to exclusivity and then for marriage. Valentine's Day is just another reason for women to get paid for bedding a man all year long with all of th advertisements for jewelry and the like. Same goes for X-mas, birthdays, and anniversaries. Would these women want to be married if they did not get all of the financial goodies? When the women want divorces, they demand their payouts for being a wife aka a "prostitute". I know...I veered off point here! grinning smiley

I most respectfully disagree that all marriages are a form of working in the sex industry. Though certainly many of them are, that's obvious, I guess I'm naive enough to believe that some people marry for love, and are equals. It's gotten better through feminism and women's rights, it used to be that every wife was prostitute/chattel.
I agree with leaning. I certainly am familiar with these prostitute wives, who basically just sponge off their husbands in return for sex, and although they don't work outside the home, they whine if asked to do things like continue looking attractive, cook a good meal every night, and keep the house nice. But, there are also many women (such as myself) who get a career going and pull their own weight. I also have known men who have spnged off their wives, for that matter.

My husband and I keep "his", "hers", and our money. He shouldn't have to pay for my hair salon visits, and I shouldn't have to pay for his baseball tickets. Our money goes for basic groceries, bills, etc. With his and hers money, we are able to give each other gifts and treat each other without it being an essentially meaningless exercise.

its because you jappy, and learning are the exceptions.

i have to say as a man, more men are feeling the same things that ame said, its worse if its a breeder, look at the adverts, buy her a diamond, buy her this, buy her that, or she needs she wants..

its different if a man offers without thought of recompense. but it is a form of bartering in todays world. its wrong, but thats what a lot of men see.

these women (unlike you jappy and learning and a few others), only see a man as a walking wallet, thats the only reason they are there, theres been many studies that women go for the more "successful" men, look at trump, they are only with him for his money, look at other wealthier men, with young women.

you have to ask, why are they with them, if there wasnt an extra benefit. this was claimed of anna nicole and her billionaire, it may have been love, it may have been prostitution (gaining money, items for sex).

as i keep saying there are always exceptions to every situation. but a lot of the men i know only see women of a certain type, see them as being less than a prostitute. prostitutes only sell their body, mothers to be sell their uterus.

i know several money grabbing, women, who use the potential of sex to gain rewards. they flirt, they bat their eyelashes, and they are not adverse to using their children, and follow all this with, "i will be everso grateful" nudge nudge wink wink.

these are the type of women that are far less than a prostitute. and these are the ones that are destroying the male-female dynamic.

i say to everyone, have a joint account for bills, but have your own bank account as well, for some women i know will take all a mans money from their joint accounts, and leave him broke.

there are always exceptions, and jappy, ame, learning are the exceptions plus there are others, but its hard to stop seeing the good as being bad if all you hear are the bad.

I do understand your point of view. The problem is that women still act like prostitutes looking for a permanent john when they buy these books such as The Rules and others like it that tell them how to get that man to the altar. It is bad in those books...yeah, I peeked out of morbid curiosity...with how the authors advise the women WHEN to finally have sex with the man they want to snag into marriage. Basically, the books states how an "easy" woman, one who does not wait maybe two weeks or so before presenting her cunt to her "date" or "boyfriend", will not get the white wedding dress and diamond ring. That is the same as using her pussy to barter for commitment and marriage. I have known too many women who have done this. Gag me, I would rather do it on the first or second date and be labeled a "slut" than play such ridiculous female games.

I believe Sandra Lee and Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa) both from the Food Network are also Childfree.
What about Giada de Laurentiis? She's 36 and she's been her guy for over 15 years [married for 4], and she doesn't seem to be in any rush. I like her show, and if I had any culinary talents whatsoever, I'd attempt more of her recipes than anyone else's.
