I say it's mainly learned behavior, mainly based off my own observations, though there was a gender difference study that may link it biologically. However, if I can remember, that gender difference study was an old correlational study that didn't use a statistical method that could infer causation (if it were to use a correlational method like structural equation modeling, they could have infered some causation.)

Ever noticed how people tend to want attention? Skinner and many other Behavioralists would be proud because the "I want a baby..." gets the person the attention they want. Now, everytime they want attention, they are reinforced with the attention when they say that. Like I said, behavioralist would be proud.
