The person who wrote that bullshit doesn't understand biology very well, then, because there is no relationship between large breasts and more successful breast-feeding. Even if he didn't notice that women with smaller breasts have been able to breast feed, he might have looked at one of the many mammals which doesn't have visible breast tissue when not nursing and concluded that being able to see the breasts isn't necessary.

I loathe evolutionary psychologists sometimes. All most of it is is sexism wrapped up as scientific literature.

Yes! This!! Regardless of size or shape, the human breast does not come and go, as with other mammals.

I can't even buy the wide hips there because while it would make chyldbirth easier I guess, it's not like women with slim hips don't have chyldren. Some men like bigger hips, some men like more petite women. They are looking at the package, not looking and thinking "I wonder if she can squeeze a baby out with this hips?"

Plus, how does wider hips = fertility? Are all the women who can't conceive slim-hipped? Somehow I doubt that. And even then, there are so many genetic factors that, even if it's believed that certain women have "perfect chyld-bearing hips", how many of those women are pushing out defective kyds? Lots of them if we believe all these diagnoses of awtism and other disorders.

How bout that woman in the other thread who had 7 defective kyds? If men supposedly have this instinct to sniff out the most viable baybee-mama, what's with all the defective chyldren?

I think that US people are so fixated on breasts because they have to buy a porn mag to see a pair. I've often wondered about such heavy censorship. People here like breasts as well, it's just that topless women on beaches are an ordinary sight. We get to see them more often and thus it's not quite such a big deal every time we see them.
If women made it a point to cover ankles at all times, we would be fixated on ankles and people would swoon at the sight on an ankle.

Absolutely! I think in areas where nudity was seen on the regular in public, it would not be such a big deal.

Look at the tribal areas -- those of which did and some do exist -- where women regularly walk around topless (I'm talking like the areas most of us will only 'visit' in National Geographic). Both the men and women walk around mostly, if not totally nude, and it's like it's as normal as can be to them.

I haven't heard of that problem much, but of course I'm at the other end of the scale, so I'm more used to hearing of women wearing too loose bands because they think that "only a stripper would wear that cup size." :eyebrows

If your bands aren't hurting you, they probably aren't too tight. If they are hurting you, do consider wearing a different size. A well-fitting bra almost always makes you look better than an ill-fitting one, and it provides better support as well. Who cares what it says in the label - you're not going to let just anybody look at it, and anybody who would comment negatively on it doesn't deserve to be in the position to see the label!

I've actually had my measurements done and I am a 34D. I really can't tell you what sizes were "normal" before then because I was just buying what seemed to be the right size. And even now, based on brand and style, it's not necessarily always a perfect fit. So, I'm still buying more on what looks right than even necessarily going by the size on the label.

Well, the 36 A fits the best and doesn't give the bra muffin top bulges so that is what I stick with, but I do wish my boobs were just a teense bigger... My husband scoffs when I lament their size and says he prefers the "sporty" type anyway. And he is not a man who hands out platitudes. He actually really loves how boobs look in sports bras the best
