What a stupid moocow to do that in public. Brandy was used for YEARS to help teething brats. My mother used to mix honey, bourbon, lemon and candy cane and pour it down our throats for bad colds. Alcohol was the primary ingredient in kiddie cough syrup until recent years. She should have known this would be a BIG DEAL if anyone saw her. She should have just spiked the bottle with some hunch punch BEFORE she got there. sheesh. She ought to know that anything and everything is "chyld abuse", which is nonsense. I don't even know why this made the news....oh yeah, it was CHYLLLD ABUSE.

Good God and all that is holy......GET A FUCKING LIFE people! There's nothing wrong with a sip to sooth. But, here we have perfect proof of yet another dumb-fuck mother who should have been discreet in the application of her choice of medication.

In the 19th century they sold all kinds of kids' "soothing syrups" which contained lovely things like opium and morphine. Like the good ol' Mrs. Winslow's Soothing Syrup. Alcohol is pale in comparison...but it's prolly not good for a wee body and is majorly dumb to do this in public.

Yea, giving your kid a splash of wine so it shuts the fuck up and you don't beat it half to death is considered child abuse, yet you can breastfeed your kid until it's 7 years old and that's perfectly A-OK.

Maybe this was a Moo Attention Whoring effort gone bad?!

Seriously, though, my father prescribed whiskey or brandy rubbed onto the baby's gums for teething pains. And yep, my mum did the old whiskey, honey, and lemon bit for cough syrup. As you can tell, I survied.

There are laws against giving kids alcohol in public--and I would question Moo's wisdom in giving wine to a baby. Dumb Moo.

oops, in light of the posters who said their folks used alcohol with wee ones, which I think is perfectly fine and even good, I just was thinking slugging down wine in quantity from the bottle she poured it into. Totally different situation.

Yeah, and she probably waited until the little bastard was near dehydration to give it to him so he would suck the bottle dry. He probably wouldn't stop squirming or shut up, so rather than get a babysitter she decided to get him drunk so he would pass out. nniiiiice.
