Whether we believe her or not is not really the issue. It's hard to imagine that anyone who actually cares about this child's well-being thinks it's a good idea to break up his family and separate him from his mother for an extra six years of his childhood.

But that's a side issue where this article is concerned. The woman was convicted of manufacturing meth and the baby tested positive for opioids and methamphetamine when it was born. These facts are undisputed. Yet the author of the article argues that the extra jail time is unwarranted, stating (of the moo's supposed remorse):Quote

An extra six years? How about we separate them for his entire life? I can't believe anyone who actually cares about the child's well-being thinks it is a good idea for this woman to retain custody of him!

The home of an 8-year-old Arizona girl who was abducted and killed apparently was a nest of drug abuse and sales, police said.
A monthlong narcotics investigation resulted in the arrest Wednesday of Isabella Grogan-Cannella's mother, stepfather and grandmother on felony drug charges. Police said Tania Grogan, 29, and Ralph Folster III, 28, were dealing methamphetamine and heroin in Bullhead City, and that Grogan supplied methamphetamine to a family friend charged in her daughter's death.

While I absolutely don't agree with sentences being reduced or delayed because someone has a kid, the idea of criminalizing harm to a fetus is legal crack for forced birthers. Opens the door to punishing women for drinking coffee, eating shellfish, having a glass of wine.....and it may even happen to women who aren't even pregnant yet, if they are doing things that may be deemed fertility damaging.....
The stupid of the article though suggesting that the baybee would be better off with meth-head moo :crz
