The only thing I can think of are the health conditions linked with old sperm such as Downs, autism, and schizophrenia. My dad was 33 when I was born and 40 when my brother was born. My parents have a 13 year age gap. I have aspergers I mean autism (thanks DSM-5) and my brother does not. I'm very high functioning because of my two X chromosomes. Girls always have it milder than boys. That's why most severe autism cases you hear are boys.

In my own opinion, a kid is not really a good deal. Even if she is very rich, kid will still cost her a really good chunk because the amount that is spent on a kid is directly related to one's lifestyle. She may get more money in a divorce settlement because of the kid, but that is not a safe bet. Kid could possibly cost more than what she would get. The best deal is ending up with a ton of cash and not having any liabilities thereafter.

Here is what I see. It is a well operating machine that is oiled by corporations. Here is why. Most of the tax breaks that parents get, they spend them. I know plenty of parents who earn more than I do and these same parents are struggling to survive from paycheck to paycheck. I think tax breaks were designed to give parents more disposable income so the money is put right back into the economy. That is another reason why I think breeding is encouraged as much at is it - it pays corporate bills because parents do spend the cash that Uncle Sam gives them.

You bring up a good point, Techie. I'd also like to add, the parents spend lots and lots of money on stuff that they and their children really don't need.

On top of that, they complain that they're living paycheck-to-paycheck and in debt up to their eyeballs. They huff and puff about how just a few generations ago in "the good ol' days" a family could live comfortably on one income. Personally I think this is baloney because the average family in the 1950s or 60s didn't have four new cell phones, four calling plans, four data plans, four tablets, two computers, four televisions all with cable TV service and 200+ channels, vacations, multiple theme park visits, designer clothes, 2+ SUV's in the driveway loaded with every feature imaginable, etc. etc. etc. ...

In short I'm quite tired of hearing how "haaaaaard" it is to raise a family, financially speaking. Stop wasting money and realize that "having it all" isn't a viable option. Tell your kydz that if they want all kinds of expensive shit, they're going to have to go get a job and get their own money to obtain it.
