Another "better person"?

Up here, we're not allowed to mention if adults who are with a Young Offender are related to them or not, but what other 41-year-old woman would be hanging out with a 17-year-old kid?

It was either his moomie or an older woman pedophilic slut of some sort. Why can't they reveal the relationship of kyds to adults when they are arrested? Does it have to do with revealing a minor's identity? In the US, they ALWAYS report if the perps were related, regardless of the ages or if they disclose any names. I don't know why the sacred kyd names can't be revealed anyway. The ONLY names which should'nt be revealed are rape victims or any victim who doesn't want his demise publicized. However, victims' names are often leaked before they will unseal a juvie record, even if it included murder. Just one more "protect the chyldren" piece of bullshit. If they commit a crime, then presumably they have lost the right to be treated as an innocent kyd, IMHO.

It's a Canadian thing where they really, really go out of their way to not give Hint One who the Young Offender might be.

They also really, really go out of their way not to give any real punishment to Young Offenders. A bill to strengthen punishment was stalled in committee because the Conservatives wanted judges to be able to consider deterrence and denunciation when sentencing a minor.

That's right - judges here are not allowed to consider deterrence and denunciation when sentencing a minor.
