the fact that marriage is now rewarded by no bills, thats what really gets me annoyed. the choice to wed should be yours not a 3rd party, oh you cant get any birthcontrol pills unless you are married, you cant have this as you arent married..
as soon as you are we can give you all this stuff.. thats my objection.

i dont like the way the state could essentially force people to do something they didnt want too. so what if they didnt get married and waiting for the right time.. its an intrusion of the state into a personal matter.

Can child support be demanded if the couple is still married? If so, what is stopping the guy from marrying the bitch and leaving without divorcing her or refusing a divorce? Sure, he couldn't legally marry again, but I think for a lot of men, that would be a small price to pay for not being made to pay $1200 a month in kidlet support.

Even a divorced mother who has her child in the system for whatever reason can also be forced to ante up. A friend had her son, who was mentally disabled, at a school where his needs could be met. When she sold her house in Fairfax, CA, the state did take some of the proceeds. Granted, my friend has disability: post-polio and some other stuff. She got mad at the county but she always shops at Macy's and goes on religious retreats for her religion. Even to this day, she buys from that store. I only shop at Dillards when there is 75% off special! There is a trust fund from her parents who are deceased but her church holds onto it so the county cannot take away benefits. This woman has lived better than I have even when I worked 2 jobs! An ex-husband's sister was required to pay several thousands of dollars for her delinquent son who had to live in a group home setting after he got out of juvenile hall. Again, this is California. I, for one, am glad the state there has required parents to pay for their offsprings' care or incarceration. Everyone wants socialism except when it is for a person who does not have children but still has run into financial trouble. We are on our own if something happens to our work or spouses and have no family to help or love us.
