Teacher Fired after HS Student Posts her Nude Picture

A South Carolina teacher took nude picture to send to her husband. Little brat found her phone while she was in the hall, and spread it everywhere.
Her boss, superintendent David Eubanks is blaming her, not the 16 year old student!

Should she have put a pin on her phone? Absolutely. Should she have been fired? NO.

Good news though: he is being charged with "computer crimes and aggravated voyeurism,"police said.

Women aren't allowed to be sexual beings these days, even in private, and especially if they work around children. If your naked pictures are posted, you deserved it, because you should never have taken them in the first place - and for that matter, you should probably have showered fully clothed.

Nobody should give a fuck about her private pictures and the person who shared them should be punished for doing it. Having a private sexual side does not make someone incapable of performing a job professionally.

Yeah, that makes perfect sense.

What makes the teacher far less, if even the tiniest bit at fault, while making the student far more culpable, is the fact that the student had to hit several buttons to locate the folder in which the photo was stored, then take a picture of that image. I could see the teacher being at least partly at fault had that photo been already displayed upon viewing the phone without doing anything (not that I'd expect the teacher to make it SO easy to view this very private photo). The student basically trespassed and invaded her privacy before taking a picture of the photo and posting it. The student should be charged with the crimes he is being charged with and the teacher should get her job back with nothing more than a slap on the wrist for bad judgment.

Yeah, and he worked fast too. She was only gone for 4 minutes. He is being charged though, thank goodness.
Oh, and someone sent her printed photos of her nude picture in the mail.
IIRC, she is going to sue the school district, and his parents too. HA.

I don't blame the teacher for not wanting to return to that school because some of the students may not look at her the same anymore, or may not take her seriously. And I imagine this whole thing could prevent her from teaching anywhere else too. Even if other schools/districts know the actual truth of what went on, I'm sure parents would bitch and moan about how they don't want a "pervert" teaching their pweshuses.

This teacher shouldn't have to lock her own fucking phone and should certainly not be punished because some little asshole blatantly invaded her privacy. Victim blaming at it's finest, and I'm sure the brat is the result of gentle discipline, attachment parenting and generally being spoiled rotten, leading him to believe that the world is his playground and he can just help himself to anything he wants.

I wonder where else that logic would work. "It's the store's fault that I robbed it because they had things I wanted on display," or maybe "It's her fault I sexually assaulted her because she's hot and told me I couldn't fuck her. Doesn't make sense in any of those scenarios and the superintendent's accusation makes no sense either. Having something does not mean you are making it available to anyone. That's like saying that this teaching having a vagina and boobs means she's propositioning students for sex because her sex organs are being made "available" simply by existing. The superintendent doesn't want to risk the wrath of breeders by (rightfully) siding with the teacher, not just in this situation, but any situation where it's teacher versus student. Administration almost never supports the teachers because some breeder might get a case of acute butthurts if the school dares to not smooch their asses.

Absolutely the student should be punished, and I'm glad to hear that he's being charged. I mean he'll probably just get off with a slap on the wrist while this innocent teacher will likely have her whole teaching career ruined because no one will want to hire her now. It's a shame because it sounds like the teacher was a very good one who probably liked her job at least a little; because of some vindictive little bastard who decided to get revenge on her for what was probably some imagined slight on his person, the school has lost a good educator and students have lost a teacher they like. Decent teachers are hard to find and keep around anymore because so many of them quit after just a few years because of kids like this fucker.

I hope the teacher does sue the school and the parents of the little perv. Her privacy was violated, her job was terminated, her entire teaching career is in jeopardy and her employer didn't side with her even though they knew she did nothing wrong.

This is why I think all public school students should be required to carry some kind of personal accountability liability insurance.

This teacher deserves a ginormous pay off and the little crap student that did this to her should have to go to private school because it would be so expensive to pay for the insurance to let him go to free public school.

The kid did should be charged, I'm sure he won't get in much trouble being a kid.

I really think people have to be very careful with anything they have on their phones, it's a well known thing that they can get hacked. I was mad because my SO had an awful pic of me on the phone, just a face pic that came out really hideous, and made him erase it off of everything. If there were nudes anywhere I'd be paranoid all the time. I just think people need to be careful and remember that the contents of the phone are accessible.

No. The stalker admitted to sneaking into an employees only area (I think it ws the restaurant/room service) and used the staff phone to connect him to her room. These phones show room numbers. He then went to the floor and discovered the room next door was being cleaned, and requested that room. He was very elaborate in stalking her.

Yep. Just look at the reaction to the iCloud hack. If you're a woman and you have nude photos on iCloud, you deserve to have them leaked because you shouldn't have uploaded them- but if someone was to hack into Amazon's database and steal your credit card details, no-one would tell you that it was your own stupid fault for giving that information away.

If the little shit had gone into her email or hacked into her iTunes store account this would have been treated as a gross violation of privacy, but because the teacher was female and the photos were sexual the brat is in the right here for exposing a woman having teh ebil sex.

She won't get $millions, even though by all objective standards she has far more to lose, career-wise, as a working-class person than Erin Andrews ever would.

The US justice system is very good and I wouldn't want to go on trial anywhere else in the world... but as far as civil cases go, there is a lot to be desired. You get as much justice as you can afford, sometimes, and this teacher won't be receiving $54m

Not really. Hackers are out there and they can victimize any one of us. When caught they should be punished severely. But we know we're taking a risk by going online, just as we know that even if we are ourselves a cautious driver, other motorists drive aggressively or carefree.

People need to shop. They need goods and services for survival. If their credit card is compromised at Amazon or the local Walmart, that's unfortunate and every effort should be made to find the guilty party who stole the information. Unless you are in the porn industry, I really don't see any need to take nude images of yourself. You might want to, but there is no need to.

If you really want to take nude photos or videos of yourself, my recommendation is to get an old VHS or Beta camcorder. You'll have far more control of those cassette tapes than you will of anything that is on your hard drive.

I agree, I just don't know if that's going to happen. Even if the lawsuit accounted for a career's worth of services, at top-dollar value, plus attorney fees... what is she looking at? $2.5 million at best, I think.

You are correct--this invasion of privacy and criminal act came at a cost--her career! She deserves to be compensated.


Now you look at the Erin Andrews case... what exactly did she lose? She didn't lose her job. She wasn't shunned by society. She actually became more popular overnight. Her privacy was violated... which is, as I stated, worth a couple of million bucks. It's not worth $54 million bucks, no matter how "emotionally damaged" she is.

Instead of paying for their little Shitflake to go to college, Shitflake's parents ought to be forced to pay 100% of the teacher's tuition and other educational costs for her to go back to school to get another degree to enter a different career path since their shitty child destroyed her current one. Shitflake can go into six-figure debt to get a college education and then never get a decent job because his name is associated with being a revenge porn asshole.
