Same, I've never known a guy of any age who would ever object to sex at any time. I can guarantee you it's the woman's idea to have scheduled sex when it's loaf-makin' time, and it might not be so bad if they didn't demand a month's worth of sex in a 72-hour period and then acts like the guy is a pig if he wants it at any other time. In a healthy (and sexually active) relationship, sex is typically an act of intimacy and a way for two people who care about one another to be close and enjoy each other as well as themselves.

Hopefully they had the sense to wait until she is past the first trimester to make the big announcement. A very high number of pregnasties never make it past this mark.

It'll be interesting what the comics show when the reality of the situation sets in. Provided he has the guts to do it

I doubt they will, especially if their families read their comics. People who struggle to get knocked up love screaming it from the rooftops the second they get a positive piss test. I think people who have a hard time conceiving also have a higher chance of miscarriage because if it's so hard to make the clump, it's usually hard to make it stick too.

I'm sure it'll be cutesy comics about how the loaf gets baby food everywhere but in its mouth, or Duh in a biohazard suit handling a dirty diaper with a ten foot pole. Stuff that breeders can tee-hee at. I doubt they'll show the harsher reality of nobody sleeping, their careers suffering (and subsequent loss of fans), their relationship failing, sex becoming non-existent, her looking like a dumpster fire and turning into a screaming bitch with PPD, and not being able to do or afford most of the things they did before. And if they do show those things, it'll be concluded with something about how it's all worth it. I'm sure there will also be occasional bitter pokes at unchilded friends.

I'm seeing this kinda shit unfold with a former classmate on Facebook. Both he and his wife are also professional artists and they announced their "blessed news" on social media and seemed to imply that hey, nothing's gonna change in their life and this kid isn't gonna rule the roost, but we're such an awesome team that it's all gonna work out just fine. Now that wife-Moo is nearing her sluice date, I'm sensing a little of that joy has dried up. The last update for the "happy couple" that I read a couple days ago was something like, "This will be our last Christmas as just the two of us. Gonna get as much sleep as we can now. Enjoy life, everyone!" I think they're getting a hint of buyer's remorse because they don't know what to expect.
Damn shame because these two are a wonderful couple and I just really don't think there's going to be room in their lives for a kid. They aren't immature or broke or anything, it's just I can foresee this kid driving a wedge between them.

It's almost as if-- and stick with me here, I know this theory is wild-- nature is trying to tell them something.

Can practically see the comics already from your description and betting you're spot on. Perhaps the sleep one will be okay to poke fun at along with the Duh in biohazard and the baby food everywhere. But the rest of those harsh realities won't be in comics because breeders won't laugh at it so there will be no audience. Definitely bitter pokes and you're next for the unchilded friends. Wondering if there will be any mama bear claws exposed.

This is sad, almost sounds as if they both have a terminal illness when they tell others to enjoy life. Maybe someone cued them on the realities of parenting once they were inpig. Can't imagine two professional artists having an easy time parenting either. Exhaustion doesn't lead to creativity.
