Hi folks!

I registered a while back before my computer crashed. Lots of various unfortunate stuff going on, and the email I used is no longer accessible. I finally said "screw it" and redid everything.

First of all, please forgive any vagueness on locations, but I have acquired a few stalkers before.

I'm 40, female, sterilized, and living in Illinois. I'm from Texas originally. I currently go to school full-time for paralegal studies. Even though I have a bachelors in business, I've been unemployed for a long time, (like many people). I'm divorced - hubby found a wannabreed 6 months after my hysterectomy. Apparently he thought he could change my mind all these years.

I live with my mother and rescues: 4 cats, 1 dog, and 1 rabbit. We have an old house that is full of spirits and energy. Mom and I are Wiccan. My path is Gnostic Christian Wicca with elements of Shamanism. LOL it's complicated. Mom is very supportive of my CF status, although she does get mad at some of my more militant moments. She's 80 and we kindof take care of each other, but the plan is for me to move once I find a job. I'm set to graduate next summer, so not sure what's going to happen.

Oh, just to clarify...I don't have any pets other than my dog. My dog has 4 cats and a rabbit. I'm sure she wants me to put that out, hehe. She's 75 pounds of pure love, especially for little animals. She has taken care of and kissed birds, voles, frogs, turtles, kittens, bunnies, puppies, snakes, and even an inch worm. Humans on the other hand are tolerated *if* I tell her they are ok and introduce them. She generally does NOT like kids.

Thanks for having me! I look forward to trying to contribute something positive. My favorite thing about this board is that even though the members may disagree on some things, they are discussed civilly.

Love, Tarrakona

:1wv

I live in IL also, Near West side of Chicago. I too live in an old house, which is full of falling apart energy. I drifted down shore from my original locale of MI.

I too studied biz, I have an MBA. Also divorced from a wanna breed.

For a minute here I thought I might be talking to myself grinning smiley but I'm not religious (unless you count Beer), my Mom is still in MI, and her only religion is gambling. If you are in NIL you probably wanna be on the look out for a silver Lexus on the Tri State Tollway. She goes to all the Casinos around here and drives like a *maniac*. If you travel these roads or have occasion to be in Lower MI, you best learn about Santeria and get you a Voo Doo doll for your car. LOL

Anyway, welcome from me too! Always good to have more new people here! smiling smiley

Like many others, I am a long-time lurker and first time poster.

I am 33 and live in the Valley of the Sun with my boyfriend (with whom I just celebrated two years together), two cats (10 year old siblings), and one dog (a 2 year old rescue). I have known I'm childfree since I was a child, although everyone thought it was funny until I turned 30. I'm really looking forward to being able to tell the "well, when you get to be MY age" types that I'm older than they are. I've gotten one or two so far, and really enjoyed it.

I used to be Catholic, but am severely backslid since finding out that the CF can't be married in the Church legitimately (never mind the stance on contraception ... YIKES!). I work in the archives, which is usually pretty CF friendly. Unfortunatey, my department has one new baby, one baby due soon, and one extra-departmental baby whose father WILL NOT stop with the babystalking. They are what inspired me to get an IUD (to forestall the same fate) and to register here (to vent).

Oh, and my username comes from a favorite poem called _Phoebe's Revolt_.
Newb back again after needing over $1,000 in computer repair. Glad to see new acivity.
Hi all!

I am in my early 20s and live in northern Virginia. Currently getting my masters and trying to find work >sad smiley. I have lurked on-and-off for a while and seeing as this is one of the most unapologetic CF sites around, finally decided to join.

Since I can remember, I have never wanted children, even swearing off marriage as my little kid brain just knew children always seemed to follow (lol). Other than an instinctive aversion to children, my goal of living away from town on my own land for peace and independence is pretty incompatible with having to tend to any brats.
Hello!! I'm very excited to be here. I've known since I was in my early 20's that living life as "mommy" was not for me. It's so nice to know there is a group of people who also do not want children! Hmm, lets see....I guess if there's anything you want to know just ask, i'llbe around! :hello

:hello

I was born in Southwest Virginia and lived the first half (20 years) of my life in Bristol, right at the VA-TN line.
Hello fellow CFers! I've been lurking here the past few weeks and I must say that it is quite refreshing to find people who aren't inflicted with the baby rabies, as many members so eloquently put it.

I'm sort of tripley screwed in being a single male these days: I'm CF, I'm an athiest, and I don't like dogs (I love cats, turtles, lobsters, crabs, cute little walruses), which, having one of these is tough for getting a lasting relationship, but all three...Sigh.

So, I guess a little about me would suffice. I never even heard the term childfree up until about a year ago or so. I had recently left my last relationship due to a difference of opinion on spawnlings, and I was starting to see that a lot of women, whether they state truthfully or not, want babies. Since I find them extremely disguisting with their spew-tastic bodily fluid parade, incessant crying and need for everyone's attention.

Yes, I've come to realize that where I live it's going to be impossible to find actual CFers if I never speak up, but like it has been said before, who can you actually trust these days with divulging CFness? I'm still working out a system, mind you.

It would appear that a number of you fellow CFers have found their special non-breeder special someone. I think that's fantastic! I was wondering how many CFers out there have decided to forgo relationships due to the seemingly-low number of eligible men and women who aren't foaming at the mouth for little hellians.

Yeah, I tend to say too much sometimes, so I'll end my boring intro here. I hope to make some great friends here with like-minded people. It's really a great feeling to know that we're not alone in this!

Can provide proof that they are already sterilized is a winner. I bet most CF women would appreciate it as well if a guy came already snipped.

Welcome! :1welcome

It's always great to have a a guy's point of view here.

We have quite a few single guys here that feel exactly the same as you do.

Since your thread was pulled by the mods so I guess I'll have to say it here: BEAT IT, MOO! Get the fuck off of our forum. As long as you're raising your niece you're a parent and parents CANNOT be members of Bratfree.

They always consider themselves to be "The Exception" to our rules, don't they?

Yes, you're such an "extra special moo" so that means we should accept you smile rolling left righteyes2

Try TCFL. They're more accepting of people with kids there, and will probably give you pats on the back for taking in the kids. We don't accept exceptions here, it's in the rules (and yes, we do get pissy when people haven't read them or think they don't apply to them).

Thanks for the welcome! I haven't noticed many guys here, so I was weary about joining first, but I think I made the right decision. Thanks again!

Howdy everyone! I jumped in on another thread and commented after registering but I want to follow protocol and introduce myself here. I was an active member of the old group a long time ago and have lurked about ever since. This forum seems to be the only CF place in which no apologies are ever made for the choice not only to not have kids but that many of us don't like being around them that much either.

That being said, I never got around to getting my Golden Snip badge but I'm one of those too. I have forgone children simply because the idea of them doesn't interest me in the least. I don't need a replica of myself to leave my temporary mark on the world and have chosen to do so through music instead. Of course many folks don't understand this sacrifice and are even more confused when I explain to them that I don't consider it a sacrifice at all. Being a musician throws them off the trail for awhile but me not wanting kids is something that just is.

I've really enjoyed the comments here and am glad that I have finally taken the plunge back into the world of Bratfree!
Oh, for the record, the train thread is by far my favorite of all time in any forum. I can't remember the names but it had something to do with train tracks, a train and a dumbass teenager with an Ipod traipsing down said tracks. It was epic!

Anyway, I don't want to ramble so I'll just say that I'm glad to be back and looking forward to getting to know you all.
Icy and Mudflappus. :1welcome :jump Glad you found your way here. Fun place.

Anna Marie Stickel. Sadly, it was one of the ones that was lost in the site crash a while back. I hear it was epic.

Yeah, that was the one! I don't even know if the word epic even comes close to describing that thread. Once the lyrics for Train Kept A Rollin' got posted it was nothing but pure blinding win! Perhaps it's just as well that it was lost because it has attained legendary status - at least in my mind.

Thank you all for the welcome!
Hello! I just want to start by saying how happy i am i found this forum!!

I'm in my late 20's and have always known i would be CF by choice. However coming from a sort of small town I am definitely not in the majority. Sometimes it' feels like I will never get to stop hearing about how amazing it is to be a baby factory!! Looking forward to some good venting and laughs smiling smiley

Oh and I'm also looking forward to not feeling less than human for choosing not to have babbies!
:1wv Hi everyone! I am a long time lurker here. I finally registered here so I can see all the content and participate in discussion with all you awsome CF people.

I am a CF woman in late 20s and currently residing in Canada. I have always been indifferent to children, and known that having children will ruin my life since very young. Back then when I was young and naive, I was actually depressed when society made me believe having children is inevitable and is for everyone. But fortunately, I was enlightened when I came across a newspaper article on Corinne Maier's book ("40 reasons not to spawn") and found all CF discussions online. So now I have been sterilized for almost two years and happily married to an equally staunch CF man.
Hi there! I just discovered this forum today. Being out of work with a broken wrist, this forum will be a nice break (no pun intended...LOL) from the TV and FB games - sooo sick of both at this point. >.< My messages will be short b/c it's a PITA typing with one hand, but I look forward to reading/relating to many posts here. smiling smiley
Welcome Xaphrie. :1welcome Wishing you a speedy wrist recovery. :bal
