My mom kept her grandchildren (before mine were born) even when she was going through cancer treatments, so it is bewildering to me that my MIL can’t/won’t keep them for two days to help us out.

That poor woman. No wonder she’s no longer alive.

Cambion, years ago Judge Judy had a sow on her show just like this as a defendant. had borrowed several thousand from a woman who was a school teacher. Teach and hubby had planned out their finances and determined that 2 children was the limit. Long and short of it: they planned.

Jealous defendant, w/5 kids was trying to weasel out of repayment.. and baldly stated about how unfair it was that teach and family could go on occasional vacations, go out to eat occasionally while poor unemployed self couldn't make ends meet. JJ said at one point 'you chose to have a gaggle of kid and the plantiff planned her family and stayed within budget' (or however JJ phrased it she could be acerbic). needless to say the defendant lost big time.

CERTIFIED HOSEHEAD!!!

people (especially women) do not give ONE DAMN about what they inflict on children and I defy anyone to prove me wrong

Dysfunctional relationships almost always have a child. The more dysfunctional, the more children.

The selfish wants of adults outweigh the needs of the child.

Some mistakes cannot be fixed, but some mistakes can be 'fixed'.

Adoption agencies have strict criteria (usually). Breeders, whose combined IQ's would barely hit triple digits, have none.
Gotta love the Ol' Double J!

There's aso a sub called r/absentgrandparents where breeders bitch and moan because grandparents don't happily choose to be unpaid, on-call babysitters for their children's spawn.

Gotta love that breeder entitlement. "I don't need to pay you back because you can afford to lose that money!" That's not how lending works. Using sense and living within your means is not "unfair" either. Maybe the dumbass serial Moo should have sat on the dick of a millionaire so she could get a fortune in child support.

Of course it's also good to just not let breeders borrow money unless you are fully prepared to never get it back. Because once they know they can get money from you, you will become a 24/7 ATM. Broke breeders are like drowning victims - they will gladly pull you under with them in an effort to get ahead themselves. And dog help you if you are childfree because then they'll tell you that you can spare money for them because you are obviously rolling in piles of cash from not having any brats and you don't need all that money anyway. They will also likely hit you up for free babysitting because you also obviously have nothing else to do with your life if you have no kids.
I saw a clip of that JJ episode. JJ was going to rule against the breeder anyway, but then the breeder slipped up and said "loaned" instead of "gave" which up until that point, the breeder was very careful to say.

Breeders will think nothing of throwing their kids at a seriously ill person so they can fuck off somewhere instead of letting that person rest. But then make Tik-Toks crying that they still had to take care of their own kids while having the flu and not getting to rest. That woman probably died faster because she had to chase around children instead of focusing on herself.

Guy asks if he's an asshole for not inviting his minor daughter to his wedding because the wedding is childfree. His fiancee doesn't like kids and gets on fine with the guy's adult daughter, but not his 9-year-old daughter. Duh doesn't want his younger child at his wedding because he doesn't want his new wife to have to put up with the girl. Girl cries and gets mad when Duh lets her know she will not be in attendance.

The girl's grandparents (Duh's parents) offer to take her out the day of the wedding to do something special to cheer her up, which Duh says they are absolutely not allowed to do, probably because he expects them to be at the wedding (translation: wants another gift).

I'm kinda torn here. On one hand, people are entitled to bar kids from their special day, including their own. Nobody wants to hear screeching during the vows and smell shit diapers on their day they spent thousands of dollars on. Plus it's good for kids to learn that they do not belong everywhere. On the other hand, that's gotta hurt for your own father to tell you you are not welcome to his special day because New Mommy's feelings are more important.

Duh is still a fucking asshole, though. One, for marrying someone who doesn't like kids when he has kids. WHY would you marry someone who doesn't like kids when you're a parent?? And what kind of retard is this bitch who doesn't like kids and marries someone who has them? That should be considered automatic incompatibility! Duh claims she has "exquisite tastes" - well clearly she doesn't if she's marrying him! I assume one of these people comes from a wealthy family and it's not just True WuvTM.

Duh is also an asshat for not allowing his daughter to go out for a fun day with Meemaw and Peepaw. What possible reason would he have for this? She's not allowed in the wedding, but she's also not allowed to go have fun with people who love her? So what's his plan for her? Leave her home all alone? Is nine too young to be all alone? I have no clue because I had helicopter parents and grandparents.

I guarantee you anything Step-Moo is going to treat this girl like shit on the bottom of her shoe until the moment she turns 18 and then she will suddenly want to be all buddy-buddy with her. Then she'll be shocked when the girl wants nothing to do with her. And Duh will allow this treatment of his kid because he's got a new hole to fuck and she is priority number one. Poor girl is already a behind-the-coucher and she deserves better.

I also see he didn't waste any time shacking up with a new hole. The girl's bio-mum left three years ago and Dud has been with his fiancee for three years.

https://www.reddit.com/r/AmITheDevil/comments/oqv801/aita_for_not_inviting_my_daughter_to_my_wedding/

Quote

I (46M) am getting married to my fiancée (39F), we have been together for 3 years. I have two daughters (18F, 9F) from previous relationships. My youngest’s mother left when she was 6.

My fiancée is a very sophisticated person and have exquisite tastes. She also does not really care for young children and this has created tension between her and my youngest daughter. While our plans have been delayed due to global circumstances, our plans to get married are finally going ahead. It’s going to be a very lavish and expensive wedding. Due to the nature of the wedding and my fiancée’s preferences, our wedding is also going to be child free. We will, however, be inviting my oldest as she is no longer a child and because, unlike my youngest, her and my fiancée get along well.

However, I didn’t realize that my youngest expected to come to the wedding. She tried to tag along with my fiancée and oldest when they were going shopping for a dress for my oldest, because she thought she was going to need a dress too. I explained to her that the wedding was going to be for adults only and that she wouldn’t be attending. She started crying and getting mad which stressed out my fiancée.

She has been distraught about this for days and hasn’t let it go.

My parents came by to visit today and my youngest told them what had happened. When they asked for clarification on the situation I explained to them that my daughter wouldn’t be attending the wedding because the child free rule applied to her as well. Besides, this wedding would not be suitable for a child and I don’t want my fiancée to have to deal with my daughter on the most important day of her life. My parents told me I was being a terrible father by prioritizing my fiancée over my daughter and that on the day of the wedding they would take my daughter out for a special day, which means they wouldn’t be in the wedding. I told them they couldn’t do that, even if they didn’t attend the wedding I wouldn’t let them take my daughter. This has become a bigger conflict than I intended.

My fiancée and I both think we’re in the right for wanting a child free wedding, but it appears I may lose my parents from the wedding over this and I want to know if I’m in the right or not. AITA?
Holy shit what a pair of assholes. The kid is nine years old, so I doubt she'll be that much trouble anyways. What the hell does stepmoo think is going to happen after they're married? Is she going to lock the kid in the attic or something?

Also, having exquisite taste isn't a flex. I have it, a lot of people have decent taste but that taste isn't reflected in her behavior towards her own future family.

She sounds like a high-maintenance beeyotch by the sounds of things and wants her perfect Instagram worthy wedding without considering the feelings of everyone else. Dad is an idiot for marrying a woman who dislikes his daughter enough to bar her from his wedding.

Disgusting behavior all around by these two. That poor kid is going to be so miserable.

Well, he hates his own children, so I'm sure he started looking for a replacement nanny as soon as bio-mom was out the door.

Yes the man is an asshole! I wonder if he worked in management and attended the Jack Welch Institute and absorbed Jack's ideas. Jack got bored with his wife who was about the same age as him and divorced her and started dating "Susie" who was much younger and they eventually married. His kids were the in the back of a couch.

I mean barring behavioral issues like autism, I don't think a nine-year-old would be disruptive. But then if there are no other kids at the wedding, the girl might also be bored. I've been to weddings as an adult where I was bored out of my skull. Still, you'd think she could have been a ring bearer or flower girl or something.

And when she goes no contact with her Duh and Step-Moo upon reaching adulthood, Duh will wonder what he did wrong that he raised such an ungrateful brat. I hope the girl's sister at least has her back so she has someone in her corner.

Lots of breeding-centric things in r/AmITheDevil too, like men who manipulated their reluctant or CF partners into having kids they didn't want and being honestly shocked when those partners wind up severely depressed or experience complete personality changes.
I'm suspecting the kid doesn't have autism or anything like that, because they tend to mention that kind of stuff in posts.

Stepmom is probably looking for her cash cow to support her "exquisite taste" and he's going for the poontang. Because of these idiots putting their wants first, this poor kid is going to need therapy when she gets older.

Moo hates her life after breeding because she has an awtard who is 9 going on 3 and a daddy's boy that gets away with murder and is a brat because of it. And the two brats fight all day long. Big shock, she's also knocked up with a third kid because apparently she doesn't hate her life enough yet!

I love how everyone in the comments is suggesting anti-depressants (which are good), but absolutely no one is suggesting aborting the clump when she hates her very existence with just two brats.

But yeah no, go on and add another kid into that clusterfuck. I'm sure it's totally healthy for kids to have a mother who cries and screams all the time. Not to mention anti-depressants, while helpful at times, are also very hit and miss. Some work like miracles, others make you feel worse and potentially suicidal. And there's no way to know which one will do which for you until you do some trial and error.

Why are breeders this stupid? Why will they acknowledge their kids make their lives miserable and then go and have more? Do they think it will get better? Or do they figure it can't possibly get any worse? Because like anything else in life, it can ALWAYS get worse.

Every morning I'm crushed that I woke up. I do not want to do this anymore. I hate being a mom, a wife, just the person always expected to take care of everyone's needs & emotions. I wish I would've known how much it would suck the life out of me.

My kids just fight all day, every single day. An autistic 9yo who acts 2/3 and a 3yo that hia dad babies all the time so he's awful. Every day I yell, I cry, I hate my life. Nobody is ever happy and somehow it's my fault.

My younger sister is here to "help" but instead has added to my load. She lays on my couch all day complaining about the kids. Going on & on about how much my life sucks, how my life is the perfect example why she got an abortion/never wants to be a mom/needs to get on bc.

And to top it all off, I'm 22wks pregnant and just don't want this baby at all. I feel like it was the biggest mistake to go thru with this pregnancy and I hate myself every day for it. I have no idea how I'm going to deal with a baby on top of everything else. It feels impossible and I just want to die. I wish I could sleep forever & be done with all this.
I've been on antidepressants for a few years and I can attest to this: If the underlying reason for the depression isn't resolved, the medication won't do much except act as a band aid and numb you to your misery. It doesn't fix a shit life. This woman's life is shit and that's why she's depressed. She's made some awful choices and I somehow don't think meds are going to fix that.

I think abortion would be a good idea for her at this point. She's not mentally capable of dealing with her existing brats, and adding another one into the mix is only going to make things worse.

Other than that, I have no idea how she will be able to fix her life. The kids are there now and she's gotta put on the big girl panties and deal. It's either that or adopting them out to another family.
Re: Breakingmom Tales: Or A Collection of Stupidity & Dumb Choices

She's 5 1/2 months pregnant. I think she's passed the window for abortion unless there's an abnormality. Adoption is her best option at this point.
Re: Breakingmom Tales: Or A Collection of Stupidity & Dumb Choices
July 18, 2024
Oh whoops, I guess my brain decided to skip over the part where she is 22 weeks along. I forget, in some states, isn't the cut-off 24 weeks? Or maybe it was? But okay I can see why nobody is suggesting abortion. Still, why are they not suggesting adoption? Or will Duh not allow her to give the kid away since he's probably the one that wanted it in the first place?

I mean she might still get lucky and the fetus may wind up with a huge problem that is "incompatible with life" and would require termination.

And you're right, anti-depressants can work wonders for a person, but if the root cause of the depression is not dealt with, the medications will only treat the symptoms. If a person is depressed entirely because of a chemical imbalance in their brain and not due to circumstances or a living situation, then anti-depressants alone might be enough. But this woman would likely need therapy to teach her how to cope with the choices she made on top of medication.

I might be the odd one out when I say this, but I think in some cases like this, it might be best for the Moo to pack a bag and leave without looking back. It's not like she'd be leaving the kids on the curb and wishing them the best of luck. Duh is there and I'm sure family will flock to help him when they learn Moo wife bailed on her kids. I'm sure it might hurt the kids to learn Mommy left and isn't coming back (especially if they learn it's because of them), but would being raised by someone who hates her life and resents her kids for existing who cries and screams every single day be better? In a case like that, I almost think no mother would be better.

After the incubating loaf pops out, pack a bag and leave in the middle of the night and let Duh step up to the plate. Go somewhere, anywhere. Start life over again.
Re: Breakingmom Tales: Or A Collection of Stupidity & Dumb Choices

Moo is knocked up by an abusive asshole who collects animals and fights with her all the time. Duh's brat he made with a junkie prostitute before meeting this Moo is violent and delayed mentally, probably due to Moo's drug use. But she won't leave him because she lurrrrrrves him and wants to work things out. But she also doesn't want to leave her section 8 housing when Duh wants her to move her, two toadlers and a newborn in with him and his future family of pitbulls that I'm sure will not be trained at all.

She's got 300 Moos telling her not to move in with this waste of space, so I'm sure she'll do exactly that and then complain when he abuses her some more and continues to neglect his kids. Why does a grown woman need to be told this shit? This is not a hard decision to make. Let me guess, they weren't using any protection whatsoever and that's why she is six months in pig in a seven-month-long relationship? Given how dumb this woman is, I wouldn't be the least bit shocked if she believes in high school sex myths like if you jump up and down after sex, you won't get pregnant.

Quote

Hey Bromos,

I really need your help, and kindness. I have such a hard decision to make and I feel like I can’t make it. Please help steer me in the right direction, this may be long but I really need someone’s advice here.

My partner (29) and I (27) have been together 7 months. I am 6 months pregnant. I got pregnant literally right away. We both have a child from a previous relationship who are both 3 years old(8 months apart) and we live in different provinces (about 2 hour distance) I do all the travelling by myself and I pay for it all.

I’m due in October and he wants me to move in. But it’s so much more complicated than simply moving in and I keep getting closer to my due date and have no idea if moving in is the right choice. I’ll give you some insight on what’s stopping me.

1. I live in a beautiful government funded apartment. I was extremely lucky to get it as a single mom to my oldest as soon as I did. It’s a 2 bedroom and can easily fit this new baby on the way. I love my apartment. It’s mine, it’s beautiful. I have family here, support systems, a job, I have daycare where my son has lots of friends and is really happy. It’s EXTREMELY affordable. I will never get this opportunity again if I leave or be able to support 2 kids on my own without this place and these opportunities.

2. He has a temper. He gets MEAN. He yells, he throws things and punches things. He got drunk and spit on my face during a fight once at 10 weeks pregnant.. poured a beer all over my head after. He says the worst of the worst and when it’s over he acts like it never happened. Doesn’t talk about it. I stay cause I love him. He smashed my new phone to bits.. never fixed it so I’m using a very cracked phone. Easily set off and when he goes off.. it’s usually at me or just start wrecking things. I have often picked up and left with all my things cause I don’t want my son around it.. usually happens when kids are asleep but I often leave next day.. but than he goes back to being the man I love and I struggle to stay away and I come back. Edit to add: I also discovered he was flagged for domestic violence by the local police department 4 years ago. I never knew that but he did explain he use to use drugs back than and changed his life around and is a different man. I did believe him, I know he’s off drugs completely but discovering the domestic violence flag was concerning.

3. He has animals. He has 2 pit bulls, one of which he let get pregnant after I said I don’t want to raise puppies with a newborn. He didn’t listen, she’s pregnant. I said abort, he didn’t. We have puppies due a month before delivery. Oh.. and he got a kitten. I told him no. I said I can’t handle these animals, he snuck out and got one. He wants another too.

4. He has a very difficult child. He told me he only gets her 50/50 when we got together.. I discovered his baby mama is a drug addicted escort with a history of all kinds of abuse on 2 other children. She chose drugs (surprise) we had to save his daughter and now she’s with us fulltime cause mom abandoned her. She has so many delays and behavioural issues. I suspect autism. She doesn’t talk at 3, she has HUGE meltdowns and gets violent. She screams. When she’s happy she screeches. The volume is always high. I struggle to bond with her cause I was thrown into being her mother and she is overwhelmingly hard. I got her into speech and evaluations.. he keeps forgetting to take her. The only plus is I have daycare for both kids if I move there so i will have help.

5. He’s impulsive and selfish. I often do all the travelling since he can’t leave his dogs. He rarely helps with money and he has used me asking for money in fights before, saying I’m just with him for his money when I have barely gotten a penny out of him. He expects me to clean and cook and look after 2 toddlers.. while pregnant. I often sleep in and in fights he uses that against me. It’s hard and I’m struggling and I can’t keep up and in fights he makes it known he thinks I’m lazy and can’t handle kids. It hurts.

6. He hasn’t publically announced his son on the way. He says he doesn’t post on social media but he does.. he posts his daughter. He hasn’t bought a single thing. Not a diaper, not a onesie. Nothing. I have gotten everything at the apartment on my own and set it all up cause we fight a lot. He changed his room around so it doesn’t fit a baby now. He doesn’t suggest names.

7. We bicker a lot. I don’t feel seen and I feel alone and he always talks about himself and what he wants and not our son so I get mad. He doesn’t ask how I am or feel. Talks about wanting to buy all this stuff but still hasn’t gotten anything for our baby. I get frustrated so we bicker. I’m always the one who comes back to work things out.. I left for 2 weeks after a bad fight and he never once reached out to me or came after me. He partied the entire weekend and I came back and found him messaging a girl. He never reaches out to me to fix things..it’s always me come crawling back.

We’re trying to work things out but am I. Crazy? Do I need to run? I’m scared to have 2 alone. I want to give birth next to him. I don’t want to fail my sons with no father figure. But moving in doesn’t seem like an easy choice… and if things don’t work out there I will be homeless and fucked. I can’t go to my family with 2 babies and I can’t afford an apartment alone and won’t get back into government housing .. so what do I do? Please help me. I feel so lost.

Let me count the ways in which this sounds worthwhile and fulfilling. Zero. The number of ways is ZERO. I can't imagine spending all day long yelling about every single goddamn thing and having even the simplest things turn into total clusterfucks, and it's far from being the first time I've seen stuff in that sub about Moos who scream all day long at their kids because they don't listen, or they ask how to stop yelling.

I think after yelling so many times in this instance, the kids should be informed that they have forfeited their right to go to the park because they refused to get their shit together in a timely manner. If they screech about it, just shrug and say we'll try again another time and see if you fucking behave.

Of course, I'm sure no one held a gun to this moron's head and made her breed three times either. So her hell is of her own making.

Specifically talking about parents of 3+, I too was able to employ All The Tools when I had just 1.

Mine are 6, 2, and 1. It’s not that I don’t know the tricks and strategies and methods etc etc, it’s applying them 293732983737x a day that feels impossible. So if I yell at them once an hour that seems bad, but that’s not considering the 50 times that hour I DIDN’T yell.

Example: something simple like going to the park. The 2yo runs away when I try to change her diaper and I chase her all over the house. The 6yo can’t find his shoes and doesn’t like the ones by the door so whines louder and louder and louder. While this all occurs the 1yo pulls the 2yo’s milk cup off the table and spills it, 2yo screams and grabs it, 1 yo screams. In the confusion I set down my keys and it takes 5mins to find them. 6yo tries to show me a trick while 2yo asks for something so I can’t hear either of them, both pout and fuss that I wasn’t listening to them (because I literally can’t). By this time 6yo is whining about why haven’t we left yet. 2yo wants to bring a snack but I say no because it’s almost dinner, whining ensues. Finally at the car 1yo climbs into the wrong seat while I’m buckling 2yo and has to be wrestled out, 2yo thinks that’s funny and does the same thing. 6yo is playing with the dog and has to be prompted multiple times to get in the car, he’s going on about something “but but but i just want one minute to finish X but but” and finally I snap and thunder “GET IN THE GODDAMN CAR”.

So like, in this scenario the gentle parenting accounts and advice aren’t helping because I know about taking breaths, offering choices, acknowledging feelings etc, I had already employed those strategies over and over patiently for the past hour, but it’s just so nonstop 18 hours a day every single day i don’t see how people are doing this and never losing their shit.

I feel so bad, I hate myself and dwell darkly on what my kids will say about me and my traumatizing yelling in therapy someday.

There are so many dumbasses on Reddit.

I don't know if you guys saw this, but a woman posted that she's been dating a guy for FOUR MONTHS and discovered that he had "disturbing" ideas about women, including: if a woman doesn't abort, then a man shouldn't be obligated to support his child.

The kicker to this story is that at his request, she went off her birth control. In the original post she said something about how BC "isn't good for women" and it wouldn't be a big deal if she got pregnant, but she's concerned he won't support her.

You really have to copy things when you see them, but here's where the original post. Naturally she went back later and removed what she wrote, like most of these dumb cows do. (But I'd bet money she's not altering any of her behavior in real life.)

Depends on the state. Some states use fetal viability. If this is based on American Academy of Pediatricians Neonatal Resuscitation Provider standards that is 22 weeks.
